The Witcher 3 Official thread

None of those are things related to polish, and don't shoot the messenger I'm just posting info I came across. This is the Witcher discussion thread is it not?

Yes, but the reviewed copy isn't the edition released commercially, there may be many changes. The pre-load will also receive update 1. The only gameplay experienced by the reviewers are the PS4 pre-release.

Yes, so you said.

To reiterate, the reviewers complaints was with the UI, controls, mechanics, story, quests, etc etc. The review is 5 pages and goes into detail.

Considering all the big reviewers are giving Witcher3 flawless 10/10 and 9/10 ratings, I thought it was interesting to see a review that didn't like it, especially the biggest gaming publication in Poland.

Personally I'll wait until I actually play the game before I decide.

Thanks for sharing however the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Pc Gamer wrote a bit of a preview of the PS4 version. If you read in between the lines it sounds like that combat isn't very good. Gerald was getting stuck on scenery, the controls were slow and unresponsive and the targetting system was clumsy.

Sounds similar to what the Polish site was saying.

I'm curious to see how the controls will turn out, a lot of people hated the witcher2 controls (pc), but I didn't mind them.

Yeah should be ok. Disable AA or use FXAA/SMAA & disable tesselation.

The PS4 review version that CDPR sent out was buggy as ****. Various other outlets were having the same problems.

Where do I get this torrent ponder? Legit one of course.
I am downloading direct from the GOG site now, and it is painfully slow. Using about 1/3 of my line speed.

Search TPB for "the.witcher.3.wild.hunt.2015.goodies.prepack.by.corepack"

I started dl'ing at 00:00 on my 2Mb/s line and got 4.8GB down by 7am.

I cannot verify or confirm anything wrt this torrent so take it as it comes. ;)

They also mention the 280X in the same sentence as being great for ultra details at 1080p. I have an HD7970, and the 280X is just a slightly faster rebadged version of it. Oh man I hope I can get that performance.

My 960 I can boost the core clock >1.5GHz & mem clock to ~7.8GHz so I suspect I'm around 770 performance levels. The gameworks stuff will degrade performance as will AA. I have no idea what AA options are available, might just use a SMAA injector as that looks good with minimal performance knock as it's post processing aa like fxaa.

Thanks man. Found it and downloading.

German review of early PC version, http://www.pcgameshardware.de/The-Witcher-3-PC-237266/Specials/Technik-Test-1158845/

Reckon gameplay is smooth on ultra settings with a gtx 770 2GB & a cpu underclocked to 2GHz for 1080p.

This makes me hopeful that I might yet be able to play the game on high on my poor 2GB HD7850. Was nipping a little as that's the only thing in my rig that doesn't meet the requirements. I even got more RAM specifically for this game and I replaced my 1600x900 monitor with a proper HD one just to get the most out of it.

I'm even considering a complete OS install tomorrow or Monday to make sure I play on a fresh OS and get the best out of the game.

This game better not disappoint. When I walk out of that auditing exam on Wednesday I want to install and start jamming with a bunch of chocolates, popcorn and lots of coke next to me.

I still haven't received my GOG code for Witcher 3 from G2A. Not much time left to predownload before release. I won't be impressed if they only send the code on release day.
