It's the world that caused Michael Jackson's death.
MJ was put in the spotlight from the tender age of 8. That's not right. We called him 'The King Of Pop'. We mimicked his dance moves like they were the biggest craze ever. We ALL have a copy of Thriller. We all made jokes about his sexuality, skin colour, and personality crisis. He was presented with the Guinness world record as the most famous person alive. People cried when they caught a glimpse of him. He received more media attention than any other celebrity during his career. He inspired fashion styles.
He was worshipped like a god.
This created a mindset within MJ of what was expected of him; to be something supernatural. That piled an immense amount of stress and pressure on him, so much so that he decided to hide from the world completely. When the latest bomb exploded above his head about the (strong) rumours that the children which he claimed to be his biological children were in fact not, the stress had overtaken him. It was one too many.
People always made Michael Jackson out as someone who could never die. This early morning it's as clear as day that he was in fact a normal human. I don't know how many people will be able to come to grips with that fact...
One thing is for sure though, he will never truly die... He will live on like Elvis Presley; and even more so.

RIP Jacko.

not his children?

Unfortunately he is gone, and if this is our doing, we still remain criminals. least i can hope, is that this serves as a lesson.

This should and will pose as a marker and a reminder in our books of history, the man killed by our negligence. :(

Fixed ;)

I wonder how long we will be jailed for. Hmmm did we also kill that other lady who died from cancer? farah Foset or something?

So all those child molestations are our fault!

I'm turning myself in . . . and all of you would do well to follow me!

/Uhm! hello SAPS . . . I did a bad thing!

Nope, it wasn't the world who did this to him, it was his search for fame.

Musicians should grow old and fade into obscurity before they die... Now he's going to be worshipped forever like elvis and kurt kobain :(
I never liked his music

I think his abusive father and the relentless media drove him loopy. He had no concept of childhood and that's truly sad

Yeah!

Heal the world, make it a better place!

That is one of the greatest songs ever made. For all his troubles there is no doubt in mind he was amazing artist with some of the greatest songs i have ever had the pleasure of listening too.

Bollocks, the only reason everyone is "shocked" is because he did not show any signs of ageing. I mean there is no progression of time in his pictures. He always looked the same (nearly)...

To me he was an extraordinary artist, who pushed at the borders and boundaries that society lay in front of everyone, most of all he was himslelf, like anyone and everyone including myself he was not perfect, but he was unique. I think people should focus on the good he has done not on his mistakes, peoples rumours etc... besides he invented the moonwalk dance...and also made people think.
Lotsa love and huggles

Apparently her dying wish was for the children of the world to be safe. An hour after that BAM, MJ is dead! Coincidence?

Sorry if this is already in the MJ jokes thread. Didn't have time to go through it.

No offence Michael Jackson, but he was weak, he couldn't handle the fame and fortune. He should have fixed the issues he had with his dad and just carried on with his life, but I guess he let his passed to take hold of him. He might have been abused, but that's not really an excuse. Tyler Perry was physically and emotionally abused by his father while growing up, but look at him now, he is one of the most successful black people in the entertainment industry, after Oprah Winfrey of course. Tyler made amends with his dad because he realised that the past has to stay in the past.

But I think Michael Jackson was/is an icon, loved by many, hated by few (mostly by people who are convinced that he was a paedophile). I think there should be a public holiday after Michael

Jeezuz ****ing wept, are you serious dude?
He was a celebrity, a nothing in the greater scheme of things, Madiba doesn't even have an international day in his honour (not that I'm advocating one) but trust me he will have one. He sold out his people (All Saffas), no matter what anyone says.

MJ slid across the stage with a diamond encrusted glove and the world should remember him by having an international public holiday named after him.....

A kiddy fiddler....

Gert van Rooyen is waiting in anticipation...

MJ was awesome. I grew up with his music and its gonna be with me for a long time so regardless of all those who have succumbed to the generic spam of predictable MJ jokes, his music will always be a part of my growing up and nobody can take that away from me :)
