The WWDC 2022 Thread/Discussion

Will be interesting to see if they are able to keep the current pricing on the Airs. You would think inflation of 8% will motivate them to use the body update as an opportunity to push the price up by a $100 or $200. If not now then next time, but now makes more sense given the body change.

Another strategy could be to keep the current Air around for a bit and release a new premium Air of some sort with an M2. The optics would be better than an outright price increase. They kinda used that strategy when they increased the iphone pricing a few years ago.

iCloud: min storage, slow uploads
Music: lots of good ideas, but slow and buggy. I use Spotify 90+% of the time.
Arcade: mostly junk games. Sneaky Sasquatch was the only impressive one.
Apple TV+: this is good but it’s R85 pm by itself.
Fitness: not in SA for no good reason
News: also not in SA

If Apple Music wasn’t buggy as hell and Fitness was available, Apple One would be amazing.

It isn't. Apple Music just provides an ugly error message about playback already being in progress on another device. Hilariously poor UX.

And something even worse is that if you add a track from a curated playlist to one of your own playlists, it shuts down playback of the curated playlist. Everything just stops, with nothing playing. Drives me nuts when using AM on my Mac.

Their curated playlists have improved a lot over the years, but they're still quite a bit worse than Spotify imo. Sometimes the quality of a Release Radar in Spotify induces fury at how pathetic the Apple Music equivalent is, and how much of my favourite artists' new stuff I'd have missed if not for Spotify.

(Having an impaired listening history isn't an excuse for AM, because my account has been in use for over a decade.)
 
I still can’t get over Apple press events live streaming in Dolby Atmos.
 
Lol ios is looking very similar to android. These platforms are so 'mature' now they are copying features from each other.
 
iOS 16 really hasn’t added anything exciting, unless of course Lock Screen customisation is your thing. I guess it was too much to ask for Home Screen customisation with something simple like being able to dock app icons anywhere on the screen instead of them always anchoring to the top left. Oh well.
 
Wow, the new MBA looks great! Much needed upgrade for the camera, and that midnight colour :love:

Unfortunately my M1 MBA is only 7 months old and more than enough for what I need it for, so the M2 one will be a nice upgrade in a year or two
 
18 hours of video playback on a single charge. What black magic are they performing over there man?
 
Interesting that the new 13" MBP retains the current design including the touch bar
