The WWDC 2022 Thread/Discussion

To be fair, M1 could already do that
Sure, but it's still massively impressive. Also, there's more dormant performance on tap for the same battery life. It's just extremely impressive.

Looks like i was right about the price increase. The new base Air costs the same as the old 16GB 256Gb version and they are keeping the old Air around at the old pricing.

hahaha

Apple FSR and Apple DirectStorage

Also, Resident Evil? Ohmigahd what’s happening.

Looks like the base model M2 will come with 12GB ram instead of 8GB. They mentioned up to 24GB, so perhaps it's 12GB and 24GB now?

Man, I've been dragging my feet about upgdating my Intel MBP.... Waited for ages on the 14" 'cos I thought it would replace the 13" at around the same price point. Since then I've been trying to get my head around R40k+ on a laptop.

I think that foot dragging might be over.

That matt black Air is gorgeous, and the M2, MagSafe and Liquid Retina don't hurt either.

Yeah, ignoring rand fluctuations, the base model should cost around R23000.

Wow, the new MBA looks great! Much needed upgrade for the camera, and that midnight colour

Unfortunately my M1 MBA is only 7 months old and more than enough for what I need it for, so the M2 one will be a nice upgrade in a year or two
I’ve been holding out until the new MacBook Air is released. The Pro is overkill for me but they can take my money for the new Air.

That midnight colour is butter from my limited viewing.

Oh boy, now they have play enabled while downloading.

This is… uncharacteristic.

Okay I’m playing dumb but I know exactly what this gaming push is about: metaverse.

The VR headset is coming.

Stage manager was clearly designed for the iPad and brought to MacOS after. Took them long enough to figure out multitasking on the iPad. This seem credible.
