But, if you want to kill all medical aids in South Africa, all that the government needs to do is to jack-up its few State hospitals and appoint staff to full capacity, in order to provide faster and more efficient service delivery. That's it. More than 80% of people of medical aids will leave and simply go to State hospitals. Medical aids will fold under their own weight.

At what cost? NHI? We'll all be properly stuffed after having to further subsidise public healthcare for tens of millions of people, while still having to pay private medical because of insufficient capacity at public institutions.
