The ZAR Exchange Rate Thread

Charl, when I met you on the brekkie run to Cullinan (2006, remember...?) I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt, you seemed like an ok oke. But hell you can be a completely different thing when you're behind a keyboard. I would honestly suggest to seek professional advice, it's not healthy.

And that is my last say on this. Finish ;)

Would you say that he has only been working abroad since 2006 ?

Just for your info, the NZ$ is losing on the rand at the mo.

and further info for you, the Euro has lost more than 10% against the US$ since the end of July

http://www.x-rates.com/d/USD/EUR/graph120.html

The Euro has been quite low for the whole year so far, but things are taking an interesting twist with these latest market crashes. However I think most of the gains in exchange rate has been due to the Rand weakening, not the Euro strengthening...

The troll forgets that there's people here that are a LOT brighter than him, with real life experience in the areas he sees fit to brag about - what a dumb twatt.

Getting this thread off skinner bashing and back on track, I found an interesting site:
http://www.x-rates.com/d/USD/table.html

From a cursory examination everything is down on the dollar for the last couple of months, except the Chinese and Japanese currencies. There are some currencies in these tables that are doing worse than ZAR, including Oz$ (click on ZAR in the right panel).

I wonder if Skinner's German cellphone number that I have of him still works....*evil grin*

You have my cell number? I don't think so. I never met you. According to two CarToday regulars, you are as much of a ridicule as I thought you to be.

Who are you speaking to?

By the way, it seems the regulars at CarToday forum believe you are crazy. Your nickname there is "Pitzi". They have been ridiculing you for ages, that's why you were forced out earlier this year! :D

He left another forum in much huff and puff and posted about selling his car because he was leaving SA to Germany.

this was early/mid 2007 :D

Case of the pot calling the kettle black.
You ridicule some other person on leaving a forum, while you yourself left in a haze, being ridiculed and ostracized endlessly at that same forum (CarToday) where you are known as "Pitzi" :D

ROTFLMAO :D

Skinner,

Bitte geben Sie mir das Land Zeilennummer des Ortes, an dem Sie sich nun in Hamburg

If you're looking for my number, sorry that is private and you would understand that I cannot post it on a public forum.
If you're looking for Charl Mocke's number, ask Generator Man. In the other thread he said he would post it but then after I said I don't have a problem with it (since I'm not Charl Mocke) he copped out and didn't post it after all.

You see, I spent the last hour chatting Online to a member of CarToday forum. Generator Man, aka Pitzi as he is known there, is exactly like I described him in http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=139591&page=5 - seriously deranged and target for much ridicule on the CarToday forum. He seem to have been completely rejected by the community there, for the exact reasons I feared for him. There are many links to prove this, but this is not the place for them. The place will come ;)

But that's that - back on topic now! :)

Have fun with your little "Big on the net" Syndrome. You fail at everything. To bad you got caught out aint it :D

Damn it.... It's a lovely Monday today aint it :)

aaaah , y i love earning USD

Just out of interest, what is your guess towards the next 3 weeks of the R-$ exchange rate? Will the markets go down further? Many seem to think so. I see it is now at R9.18 to the $...

some analyst dude in the financial mail ( a couple months back when rand/dollar was in the 7's) commented that we will end the year in the upper 9's.
looks like he was not too far off.

Yeah but I wonder if his forecast was because of the US & global market crashes he'd foreseen, or just the normal currency drivers.

In 1999, the analyst dudes were predicting R17 to the dollar in 2010 - depends which book you're reading ;)

What happens to property values, especially those on the high-end bought by foreigners when the Rand tanks? I can't believe they're making any money in this atmosphere? And I'm talking about all these larney homes on the Atlantic seaboard, no one can tell me that they're waiting for a World Cup to recoup their "investment".

Only impacts them if they are trying to take money out. As far as they are concerned rates and taxes just became loose change

IMO, If the bailout/recapitalisation starts to happen and confidence is boosted we might hopefully see the rand strengthening. It looks like the carry trade's effectively dead though, at least for now, which doesn't help. Time will tell.
