Theft in Numetro Cinema!

Nope i mean outside the theatre.

If you acknowledge a theft element at a cinema what exactly are you doing as a company?

That is what i want mybb to ask them.

Yea, you are running an ad i get that. Is there CCTV installed outside the theatre?
I mean I get where you're coming from, but it's not like Nu Metro cinemas have a monopoly on theft or crime against their customers. Why are you targetting them? Why not the country as a whole? Or airports? Or shops? Or parking lots? Or your home? Or office?

Or car on the highway?

Very pointed attack on a brand who are dealing with the exact same issues as the rest of the country.

Which Ster-Kinekor branch do you work at? Or are you in the marketing department?

I don't know hey...people need a reminder to turn off their phones and not be dumb asses....and yet they ignore that too.

So needing to spoon feed them that people may in fact liberate their stuff doesn't seem too far fetches when you've already told them how to behave themselves and they fail at doing that.

Probably makes popcorn, judging by the OP's name, CHEF...

Yea i get that im not a dumbo.Arent they suppose to provide a safe environment & have security.

I mostly created this thread so mybb can update their cinema articles & include these scenarios.

How would you suggest they safe guard your phone or whatever else you have on you? Thief might also just go in to watch a movie, then you come sit next to him/her and he/she swipes your phone, how should the cinema prevent this?

Lots of floodlights maybe lol

Security guards in the cinema patrolling during the movie?
Long ago at the South gate mall they had some big scary guys checking that everyone had a ticket. Obviously doesn't stop the paying thief.

In PMB the ushers used to sell tickets on the sly. They'd not give you back the stub rather selling that to their buddies. So if the cinema got full a paying customer could be ejected on being a stow away

Arguably you are. You go there expecting a secure environment, when in reality it is not. The business makes it as safe as possible, but cannot guarantee safety.
You need to go there, realising that you are responsible for the items in your possession and that you should be mindful of the possessions you bring in with you.

That advert is aimed at the people who somehow have so little grip on reality, they blame the company for possessions they lose while watching a movie. Possessions the company has no idea you're going to be bringing in with you, cannot reasonably guard against being stolen in a sound saturated, mostly dark room and with a very distracted audience.

The above mentioned people, are the same people who you see in Youtube videos, who see something horrible happen and with phone in hand call loudly out into the universe "someone call 911"

What the **** are you on about?

What do you expect them to do, have guys walking between the aisles watching that no one is stealing?

Have the good sense to look after your own valuables.

Criminals watch movies as well.

Most criminals in this aspect are opportunistic in that if they are there and you show you an easy target they will take your stuff.

I know someone flying into South Africa on an international flight where his laptop got stolen on the plane. Put his laptop in the overhead compartment and took the flight landed at OR Tambo and got his laptop bag and thought this is light, opened it up and his laptop was gone. Thieves are everywhere

Watched a movie after a long time at a Numetro Cinema.

They played an ad warning people to keep possessions safe at all times.

The graphics of the ad&overall tone implied a theft scenario & not a reminder for forgetful people.

Why are we paying R100 per ticket if they cannot make sure that only paying customers enter the cinema.
They had the same at IMAX a couple weeks ago. In fact I think I've seen it at IMAX last year. Ad with a dinosaur. And um, the world sucks, thats why you have to watch your belongings.
