One thing not to forget when looking at British dashboards… when it comes to fuel a US gallon does not equal a UK gallon, imperial but full retard..
You mean US gallon vs Imperial gallon.
Once upon a time there were actually 3 gallons, wine, beer and corn and the USA as a colony used them all. Then they had an argument and became independent and so missed the change to Imperial in the early 1800's.
The beer gallon was declared to be the new single unit imperial gallon, the USA being their own newly independent country decided to be different and declared they were going to use the wine gallon instead. By the time it was discovered what confusion it caused it was a bit late and has never been resolved.
