I've actually changed my method of forcing Google & YouTube (Facebook zone not added yet) to local IP addresses very recently! Previously I made use of the hosts file, but it's such a schlepp since you have to include ALL the frikken hostnames that you're using AND some antivirus software doesn't like hosts file modifications either.
Now I've given an example of how to setup BIND9 (a DNS server that works on both Linux & Windows) so that you can override the hostnames using wildcards. Currently my example is overriding *.l.google.com, which should include ALL the Google & YouTube services AFAIK. I haven't checked if YouTube works with it though. It might be worth it to add zones for YouTube too, with the YouTube specific local IP addresses.

Currently it seemed like no one actually tried my BIND9 example...

WAS capped erler this Month ...got I google ..youtube ...

bought another gig .. Capped ...
got google .sa and Youtube Cliking a link on Local list ..

now got all those sites 4 2 days
 
now I cant get on any google ore you tube things


got everything Sunday till Late in the afternoon


I dont know much about ping ing stuff but IM willing to try
IF some one can post some screenshots of what to do IM Game ..
IM on vista Telkom do2 Mega 100wr
And dont Mind buggering up my PC ( istick all my Stuf in my other hard Drive )
;-) only kids lose al there Games :-)

I downloaded different programs to download you tube vidios
some of the ones i had stopped working

hi pada thanks. i paste all entries in host file, nslookup shows for (facebook server:10.0.0.2 and ip:66.220.153.19) - and for (youtube server:10.0.02 and ip:165.165.38.144) on my telkom ISP. it this is ok because its not using the same IP in host file.any suggestions
hi nauseous manky just checked with locallist.co.za the (facebook.com) not local????????????????????????????????????

The static route has not been set by your ISP. Change it and it should work.
 
A. Join the wireless user group in your area.

ok facebook is working with local bandwidth but chat function is not, i am on telkom dobroadband 1, i am doing all this just for experimental...
 
i need to check an email in our gmail account but we are capped, is there a way to do it?
