I would scrap the Gym idea completely until you are hundred percent better. I just don't see why you need to strain your body more, while it's trying to recover.

Rather give yourself about a week or more to recover and rather go walk a small distance each late afternoon.

That said, scrap the alcohol completely, because that won't help with losing weight/toning muscles either.

The rest looks good ;)

Well after starting my weight-loss and gyming a couple of months ago.

I have decided after my breakup I need to get out more these days and live a bit. I love my PC and the internet, however I am starting to feel it is controlling too much of it.

I plan to do the following

a) Get well, thats it, been sick for months now and just want to sort it out.
b) Stop consuming alcohol for a couple of weeks/months and no more binges.
c) Carry on working hard at gym and continue the weight-loss and toning up.
d) Spend more time outdoors, going for hikes, bike riding and walks.
e) Just have a good time, you know with family and friends, no more relationships for a while.
f) Balance my PC usage with everything else, and not go over the top with either.
g) Continue to work hard at both college and work (saving up for that flat LCD)

What do you guys/gals think of this?
+1 on everything you said. Those are all great ideas. I cut out all alcohol and sugar from my diet for almost 3 months a while back. Makes a huge difference to how you feel after a while. Obviously isn't easy with friends and family trying to force feed it to you all the time, but for the first time in my life I actually got compliments about how I look. I felt healthier than ever before.

I also went through a bad time related to females recently, and have found that excise kept my attention focused on improving myself, rather than wallowing in self pity. Also helps battle depression, and kills some time that would otherwise be spend sulking in front of the PC going through old photos or something equally lame.

Sounds good, but if you can’t have a good time with family and friends while in a relationship, there is something wrong with the relationship. Just my 2c on it.

When my gf dumped me a few months back I did the exact opposite of what you are aiming for! Been drinking more, doing less exercise and just living the student live, and I love it!!
I still pass my subjects and all that, so no problems. But I think your solution is a bit healthier than mine!

I think that's all great ideas Linoman. Took me 9 months to start sorting things out.
Good luck buddy:)

To add to your list.
1. Don't change who you are(always improve but never change. way too many fake people around)
2. Talk to people you usually would have ignored (even if it's the car guard just say hi, maybe you'll learn something from someone at the other end of the spectrum)

Try to see how many of your "real" facebook/ myspace/ email etc. friends you can physically visit or go out with.

I will do that, however I am proud to say I do not use facebook or myspace:D

Well done staying positive is always a great thing to to, get better completely then heard back to the gym, and then you will be hot and find someone better

Thanks for all the positive reply's guys. Almost well enough to start gyming. Slowly putting in place all of these goals.

You see I have been telling you guys for ages how good positive thought and just generally being positive is... Months of sickness and then just over 30 hours of some positive thought and we have some miraculous results already! :)

Good one Lino! Keep up the positive thinking and recovery!

a) Get well, thats it, been sick for months now and just want to sort it out. Get out more and stop thinking your sick, the sicker you think you are the sicker you will be young padawan :p
b) Stop consuming alcohol for a couple of weeks/months and no more binges. Rather binge once a week than drink everyday :p
c) Carry on working hard at gym and continue the weight-loss and toning up. For sure
d) Spend more time outdoors, going for hikes, bike riding and walks. Yes this will make you thin and help with your gyming, possibly get you laid :p
e) Just have a good time, you know with family and friends, no more relationships for a while. Yes but remember relationships and sex are different :p
f) Balance my PC usage with everything else, and not go over the top with either. If your bored get on your pc.
g) Continue to work hard at both college and work (saving up for that flat LCD). yup porn is way better on a big LCD

Hmmm... I'm in the exact opposite position. Maybe I should start going to gym to make myself all "pretty" for my lady friend :D

Now that I'm done gloating I'll come to my point: the best things happen to you when you least expect it. I know its hard getting over an ex, but when you get to the point where you are once again the most important person in your life and your confidence shows it, you might just be surprised at what you get in return.
