Gotta agree with PeterCH. I've got nothing against black people in principle. I got alot against black people who want's to live the western life but not live up to western ethics. And because of this I'm against black people who wants to shoot the goose that lays the golden eggs ... which the black politicians and strongmen (societal/community leaders) need to survive. Take note, survive, not build forward a society.

What Politicians really need is to curb, did I say curb? I meant CURB, population growth amongst poor black people in South Africa. That's the only way to bring Africa to where it wants to be.

Getting kids is not a right. It's a priviledge. I don't have the priviledge at the moment ( although I really want a child) but I'm willing to live with it. Why can't they. Excessive population growth is single-handedly the greatest factor that is constricting societal and cultural growth today.

Obviously down the drain. I just had a look at E-TV where they spoke about all the teachers that's left or still planing to

leave. What do they do? They now employ teachers from other countries to come teach here. Why couldn't they just make

a plan for people to be "part" of this country thereby preventing people to leave? Think about it...If you had a company and

you know your employees knows their stuff, aint you going to "try" at least to keep them? :eek:

Does anyone know what teachers "get". A graduate teacher fresh from university with a 4-year degree gets. R8400/month. After tax and deductions they get out R6400. Do you know what the advancement oppertunities are for teachers? Very little. I have collegues with 30+ years experience that get R10 000.

And do you know what what pension is waiting for those people? +/- R300 000 gratification with a monthly pension much less than what they get now. Now wonder the teachers went on strike a couple of months ago.

And the argument about teachers only working till 2 in the afternoon ... BS. I'm in a governing body post ATM. It's Friday night 22:00, I'm still at school. :mad: I never get out of the building before 5 ... many times later. And the amount of abuse you get from children and parents many times doesn't make it worth it one bit.

I have to say, teaching is a great job. I love it. But I'm not going to do it for the rest of my life. I'm going to finish my Masters and then I'm going to make money. I want to buy a house. My fellow young collegues can't do that unless they marry a wealthy spouse.

For your information I was way too young during apartheid to even remember it.

Now jobs just get reserved for the opposite races so nothing has really changed it's just been reversed.


The facts on what is happening in the country speaks for themselves. You don't need a degree in rocket science to see the downward trend.

Countries all face challenges one way or another.
The one I am most concern in SA is violent crime.

We all enjoy good laughs at our neighbour Zimbabwe for their zillions
and zillions currencys & inflation numbers. but

South africa's violent crime rate is far higher than Zim already

look through the website you will get a true figures with international comparisons.

SA will sink if and only if , the gov can not effectively & swiftly combat crime.(my true opinion.)

Thats exactly my point. "Make teachers part of the country" meaning make it easier for them to stay here than leave...ie higher salary as just one of the suggestions...

Sometimes i get the feeling thats exactly what the gov have in mind...DONT STOP CRIME...This way more unintellectual ppl

stay behind giving the ANC a better "hold" on the "left-overs"

...thereby continuing to "rule"

The problem is ... what I were refering to earlier. Too many frikkin kids. The state doesn't have enough money to pay more money to more teachers to teach more children. Something of the three (money, teachers, children) has gotta give and at the moment it is 2 things that is giving, money and too few teachers.

I have a couple of classes in my computer class that numbers in the high forties. You can't teach a bunch of undisciplined kid, 48 of them, computers skills. Actually you could if half of them weren't retarded because of their parents' attitude.

I think ANC gov has realized the importance of fighting crime, after all they are going to govern for long term .

problem is, this is a very difficult task now, crime rate has already gone too high .in the past 10 years or so......

without options like death penalty as a deterrent .....

it is all up to the police chasing armed thugs,overall crime is slowly coming down sure ,but we still has far highest crime rates in many categories (in the world).

a tough battle ahead...for the nation

Thats a chicken and egg scenario...

People need to be educated about having too many kids... so for the time being, you are stuck with too many kids.

This is a clear failing of the system. Many of these ladies have kids in order to get government grants!
 
1994 to now = 14 years. That is how long is took to deplete all the good work done by the ex government. Remember, not everything was bad.

Also, before 1994, non white groups were being empowered, it did not happen all at once. Corporates spent millions on bursaries and other forms of training prior to 1994.

Today BEE is being used to impress the illiterate masses, however it hides self enrichment. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts totally. This is the syndrome we are seeing today. The recent Eskom highlighted where BEE was used to empower new contractors that had no clue what they were entering into. In the meantime they were being screwed because Eskom wanted to pay less, less in fact than was reasonable and many of these contractors ended up bankrupt. Profits went to Eskom.

The other problem is how do you ask somebody without the relevant frame of reference to judge a situation. If I ask a 6 year old what he thinks of a badly made toy, he will only be too happy with it, so of course he will say it is a good toy. Look at our roads, our water system, our health system, our home affairs, our testing centres .... the list goes on and on.

In the meantime skilled people that want to achieve something based on merit, have no choice but to leave for greener pastures. Leaving with them is our future.

Isn't South Africa a lekka place! HKGK!

If you do some research you'll find the "R400 000" homes sold are worth at least 12 million today. You can't find land worth R3 million in Houghton let alone any decent home.

I dont know how it can NOT be easy for the Govt to stop this violence etc. They are in power so basicly they just need stronger/better laws. Laws = Dissipline, Dissipline = respect, Respect = Pride, Pride = flourishment

Are you serious? Most of the country's leaders are crooked. There's a whole bunch of them that are under investigation. Tightening the laws means tightening the screws on them especially. Why do you think the Scorpions is being disbanded?

It does not help passing laws,if there is no one to enforce it,or the will to enforce the law is lacking.

Also if the one's that are supposed to enforce the law, cannot read and does not even know that the law exists.

Or if the law enforcers cannot get to the scene of the crime because they do not have a vehicle,or petrol to put in the vehicle.

We live in a lawless society.
The culture of dissobedience during the struggle is catching up with us.
To turn this culture into something positive is impossible unless you can prosecute a windowbreaker to the full extent of the law.

Problem is you have to catch the perpetrator first.
