Do you live in a house, cluster, apartment or what? I said house. So if you live in a house in Houghton on a plot of 2000 sq m or more, sell me your house for R2mill. Cos that's a bargain. I'll build four clusters and sell them for R5 mill each.

By the way, I didn't take the figure of R400000 in '94 out of my ass. I personally know of 3 properties sold for around that figure in '94 whose values exceed R10 million today, plus I've heard of many others. Those homes were sold at less than half their value. In '94 it would have costed R 1.5 million for the equivalent of a R 10 million (today) home in Houghton.

I would agree with you but it's not always the case. The Labour government is often accused of confusing political refugees with economic migrants. However, there are many hard working and skilled people arriving in the UK from Europe, South Africa and other countries which I would guess, counterbalances their brain drain.

I would agree with you but it's not always the case. The Labour government is often accused of confusing political refugees with economic migrants. However, there are many hard working and skilled people arriving in the UK from Europe, South Africa and other countries which I would guess, counterbalances their brain drain.

That's my point. If the UK is losing some of their skilled labour to places like the States they still get immigrant skilled workers in from place like South Africa,India,Australia and New Zealand. Hence their net Brain Drain doesn't effect the country to a large extent. While here in South Africa we lose skilled workers but they don't get replaced with other skilled migrant workers.
