Well that's just about right, if you have used up the 3GB and are being throttled now. I don't even get above 150kbps download speed at the moment.

Wow! not being sarcastic but that is amazing speeds you getting there! I am lucky if I can get 800b/s - 2000b/s max speed on my data lite package

How hectic is that ping? Yeesh!
What signal are we looking at, full 3G?
Well u are looking at HSPA+ and not 3G.So it's suppose to be better ,but as u can see there is such a high ping that it's not worth it to do web browsing. If i were u "never get a mtn contract or anything with a mtn word in it ":)

Perhaps i misworded the question- only because it could be HSPA or HSPA+, so i went with the Idle placeholder 3G, as that is what the tech is as opposed to the definitive.
I work for MTN as one of the engineers; interested to see what tower your sim is feeding off- would be interested to check whats been happening with the site and even though that area is not mine maybe i can help you. Could be a couple of things- PM me your details and il check for you.
As for your last statement- ive been with MTN for almost as long as they have existed- I wouldnt have stuck around if i thought they were a lost cause.
