Throttling: Telkom Uncapped vs MWeb Uncapped

I'd like to know how is the speeds on NZBs on Telkom? Also shaped like torrents? And how is the saix server, is it really needed to pay for another news server?

Electric, with all due respect we will not ask for your permission to respond to MWEB related queries. The customer indicated that they want to be able to do no more than 100Gig and we responded accordingly.

Still waiting for my e-mail warning my account with be throttled if my "excessive usage continues", and MWeb never even sent out a e-mail to us explaining the new regime and that you were removing that "no throttling ever" part of your advertising....

And your cancellations department is so incompetent they send the cancellation confirmation to the work e-mail I sent it from and not the e-mail address as mentioned on the form. So if they cant even do that right, what else can't they do right?

Despicable!

Afternoon darste, our uncapped accounts are performing well.

From the information provided, the 1MB product will be sufficient for your needs; if you stay within the limits you've mentioned
No thanks, I've decided that I want to be able to do online gaming too. And 100Gb was really a guideline/estimate - I could decide to download more than that at any time and I want to be able to do so without the impending threat of throttling looming over my head. Isn't that the very principle behind "uncapped Internet"? Not having to worry about effectively being capped through incredibly slow speeds?

Also, a number of my colleagues and friends have confirmed to me that MWeb's throttling is not applied consistently - my neighbour is also with MWeb and did 140Gb during one month without even receiving "the letter"/"the email". The next month, he clocked 90Gb and was immediately throttled. He too, is leaving MWeb.

I appreciate your attempt to get me to stay with MWeb so thanks for that, but your competitors simply offer better and true service.

If there are thresholds in place then that does not qualify as being "Uncapped".
By stating that "if you keep your limit under 100GB on a 1mbps line you should be fine" in essence you have put a capped amount of usage that is considered allowable.

Mweb should then just create 100GB, 200GB, 400GB Capped products for their clients. Surely that will work out better in Mweb's favour since the clients will be more vigilant when using their bandwith.

Our throttling is only there for a small group of insurgents.. LoL :p

Stop posting BS you idiot. Can someone at Mweb with some common sense and more tech savy post. Please
Every month ppl are leaving cuz of mweb's throttle crap. for the past year I did max 75GB( not every month sometime i do 16gb in a month) and I was throttled and i didnt even get a letter or something but my neighbor does 150gb+ and he is happy but we both moving to an other iSP cuz of mweb's arrogance and blatant crap attitude towards there clients

2 months on uncapped TI. P2P is shaped during the day, but other than that there are no complaints.
I honestly can't see why anyone would want to pay more for an Mweb account at this stage...

That is rather lol, I don't think the group suffering from throttling is as small as you make out. I have assisted plenty people move from MWEB to either Openweb or Afrihost...

You don't need to spend much time on MYBB to see how many unhappy customers you have.

and based on the responses received in the time it took me to type this it seems like you have no clue..

Big small group ... at least two complaints a day in social media .... (gotta look quick before they are taken off FB page), not to mention unique FB pages on this topic and HP complaints backed up by social media .... LOL:wtf:

I've noticed Mweb shapes torrents/P2P to death and you will never get full speed ever! You will mostly get 80 to 85 % of your line speed even at off peak times ( 11 pm to 7 am ) to download torrents. It's a real shame :(

I do honestly think Telkom Internet will be less shaped to Mweb P2P, it's super slow especially during peak times and at off peak times I still don't get my full line speed for P2P, there is just no excuse for that.

THERE IS THE CRUX OF THE MISINFORMATION PROPAGATED BY Mweb

What a bl@@dy nerve!

He clearly sated in the OP he is not interested in dealing with Mweb.

Let me quote for you, then advice you moronic CEO that "As you sow, so shall you reap ..."

I currently have a data-only 8Gb 2Mbps deal with MWeb. I want to switch to uncapped, especially with the upcoming speed upgrades in mind, but judging by the uproar over the past few months, MWeb doesn't deserve to have my business.

I'm considering other options like Telkom uncapped. .............

So, is Telkom as bad as MWeb when it comes to throttling?

No! Telkom are not as bad as Mweb when it comes to throttling!

What you're saying essentially contradicts hundreds of posts in the Telkom Feedback thread. Either you've got an issue you're not bothered enough to fix (give them a call, lay a line fault, an account fault, whatever), there's some serious ignorance bananas at work here ooooorrrr your word isn't exactly trust-worthy. I'm leaning towards the first possibility myself.

I been with Ti for a while now having come from MWEB, and can definitely say that Ti shaping is way more relaxed than MWEB.
Before I would get line speed on torrents regardless of the time of day, now lately I noticed that torrents are being shaped. But the shaping is nowhere near as bad as MWEB. With MWEB 10kB/s was the best I'd get out of my torrents, with Ti its now around 30-60kB/s, not fast but still they torrents. Torrents have only taken a nosedive in the last month or so.
NZB's seem to fair alot better than torrents, getting line speed 80% of the time.
I hardly ever have issues with Youtube or HTTP downloads, both perform great for me.

In a nutshell Ti trumps MWEB hands down!

Sir please see the next post I quoted from Gboss, you obviously haven't been with Mweb to know how bad there shaping is, I have tried various ISP's and Telkom Internet is definitely better in terms of shaping P2P, please don't say my word isn't exactly trustworthy because you wrong unless you misread what my point was and which ISP I was favoring. I'm definitely on the right track, I have tried fixing my line, laying a fault but they say the cables are underground roads and can't assist me as I'm the only one in the area having a problem with high attenuation on my line. They keep saying my line is normal.
