I just finished the sign me up page.

I then logged on and snooped around "My account" next moment ... my phone rang.

Good evening Mr customer ... it's employee so and so from G-Connect welcome and ask if we can assist.

None the less i was gob-smacked ... i mean i have not even purchased any bandwidth yet ...

Well done !!! I can smell G-connect becoming ISP of the year if they continue with service like this ... :D
 
Just don't like using my credit card directly. I've been paying WA through IB for years, rather pay R30/GB extra and save myself a bunch of trouble.

Yes please. i signed up think that eft or dedbit order will be allowed. But credit card only. I don't have a credit card so I can use you right now.
 
The only only negative I have with them, is that I can't provision my Vodacom prepaid sim card on their APN. So I have to get their sim card, which is a pity as I just can't understand why I must pay more than R1.99 for a sim card. ;)

I suspect the issue is not their fault though and more likely Vodacom.

Here's a story I'd like to share with parents, a friend has 2 children and well in the past it was always the bandwidth has been used up, and then each kid would obviously blame the other kid, well no longer with G-Connect, each kid now has their own G-Connect credentials and get an allowance each month loaded. Thumbs up to G-Connect here.
 
Guys, out of interest, Does G-Connect go through SAIX or IS?

The web logon thing is my problem to. I don't want to jump through hoops to connect to the internet.

If they drop that I will be their newest customer.

You only login once, they have session keep alive. Why do I feel like I'm repeating myself? Oh, it's because you guys keep repeating stuff from weeks ago without trying it yourself. Second hand info! Just try it, it's free sign up and you can top up with only R25, if you still don't like it - don't use it. The issue sounds a lot worse than it is.

Some people have more complex setups than just a single PC and ADSL modem. They may have wireless routers that are used by various devices like the PS3, Xbox, Cell Phones, AV Receivers, etc, etc.

Do you really want to have to go switch your desktop/laptop on and leave it running before you can use any of these other devices.

This has been mentioned by others as a show stopper, perhaps you missed the posts.

Personally, I will also sign up (again) when/if this has been resolved. I say "again" because I actually did sign up but cancelled when I found out about this. It just does not work for me.
 
I'm using their service - with smoothwall.

The Session Window is a slight niggle - if they can drop that then they'll be a serious contender for Axxess.

Must say I'm impressed with their level of service as well.

Looks great so far.
