Greetings Email Boffins,

Yesterday my partners PC bombed out.... And I had to reinstall Windows 7.

I had no chance of doing a proper backup , knowing full well that the end was not neigh, as Windows 7 creates the Windows.old folder on the C.

The idea being, when I reinstalled Mozilla Thunderbird, I would be able to import all the old emails from the original profile stored in Windows.old/Appdata ... profile....

I found the original profile , some 3.6GB of emails and address's

I have researched high and lo... (/Moose thinks of A-Ha for a brief moment) , but I cannot get it right to import all the old stuff...

I even deleted the new profile and switched it with a copy of the old, but then Thunderbird would not even boot up...switched them back and then it booted...

Is there a single file I need to point to ?
Is there by any chance that one of you techies might be a boffin at Thunderbird?

thanking you....

This works for me, just hope your old profile is not corrupted:

1. Create a new profile(thunderbird.exe -P)
2. Close Thunderbird
3. Copy contents of old profile folder to newly created profile folder(delete all files in new profile folder if any).
4. Start Thunderbird(may take a while to open as it reads through your old data)

best of luck...
