Tick Tock - Is Koeberg next?

There aren't a bunch of 'goons' running the power station. It is being run by a very skilled bunch of people, some of the best in the world.

Troll somewhere else please.

Well lets face the facts, most entities owned by government are run into the ground!!!

LOL what one nuclear power station suffers an EARTHQUAKE and now we are worried about every nuclear power station in existence?

Sure there have been some explosions but the thing is still contained. That is after suffering the biggest quake that anyone alive today has ever experienced. If anything this stands as a testament to how safe nuclear power can be when it is managed properly.

What I really don't get is all the Greens bunny-huggers now taking this opportunity to protest against nuclear power... what would they rather have to replace it?... COAL?!? :wtf:

The Japanese power station is run by a private energy firm if I'm not mistaken.

Really? Thats good to know, care to share some more details and facts!

Not sure if any of you read the article, SKILLS SHORTAGE ring a bell at all!!!!

That still doesn't explain what any of this has to do with the Japanese power station.

Also there is no mention in that article of Koeberg being short of staff.

The IAEA has it's own independant supervisors which regularly monitor Kuberg operations. They have to file a weekly report to the IAEA. If anything weren't up to spec I assure you, they will make a giant stink. They do not work for the ANC and are on a completely seperate payroll. They answer only to the IAEA.

/thread.

If you want more info go do your own research. I'm not speaking from details and facts, I know people who work there, done many tours of the station, international opinion etc.. Do a google search on the IAEA

Skills shortage? And?

That doesn't mean they will take strangers off the street to run a nuclear station does it now? If it cant be run safely it wont be run at all

They'll import some skills if they can't get it here, raise salaries..

I am not interested in the IAEA, you stated that We have the best in the world in charge of and operating the Koeberg station. I was interested to know as I presumed from your post you had "first hand" knowledge. Now it seems that that must first be researched? What a farce, then you call others trolls?
