If memory serves it was originally designed as a car sales place. That plan went belly up while they were still building and construction was halted for quite some time before it was eventually completed as an events arena.
 
Good. That place was a nightmare for events (especially and in particular, Rage)

Would have been nice if the article included comments from the new owners and what they intend to do with the place.

I say demolish it for more parking
 
Sad...I have spent many a Rand there on everything from exhibitions to listening to artists
 
Even with the events, it started originally as a white elephant.

Yes! My girlfriend at the time made me go see MLTR with her.

Saw Top Gear Live, Rage and few other events.

Also spent $$$ there when it was still the Sundome Casino.
 
I spent money there at the 94.7 cycle event registration and number collection. And drooled over all the bicycles and cycling gear I could not afford. :D

That's what I remember too. Poetic Justice if it ends up as what it was originally planned as.
 
Violent Femmes, Rammstein was there. Very very sad.
