Thanks

So the overdraft facility, is it still the same for Personal Wealth as on the previous pages to get the points?
Get one for 5000, move all of the money from your cheque + 1000 into your credit card 3 days before salary payment?

Will also create the Euro account this month and put the 2000 required amount in there. And get a second credit card and use that for CrystalWeb payments :D

using FNB Gold accounts, I see no-one has mentioned a technique I use to maximise the 4000 RL points you get for not drawing cash at an ATM, and using cash-at-till only.

I have a FNB savings account card. I keep some funds in this card for when I need to draw cash at an ATM. Thus, in compliance with the terms, I never draw cash using my FNB cheque or credit card. I found out a few months ago, that I also have to use the cash-at-till service (at Checkers using your cheque card). Its not enough to just never draw cash.

4000 RL points is a good benefit, and I can easily achieve RL5.

On a separate note, I max out my eB earn on fuel spending (on RL5, it maxes on R3000 (eb4500)). My monthly spend is about R4500. Anyone got any ideas how to earn eB out of this excess - seems a waste?

Thks
:)

The cash at till one was mentioned a few pages back, and that is what I am doing ?

The rule there is, you must withdraw ANY cash (but withdraw you need.) I withdraw R100 cash via checkers or pick and pay.

I cant wait for this months ebucks allocations, I did some changes in paying rates and taxes, keen to see how that will show. Also buying airtime via the fnb website.

A few extra rands, sure, but I'm playing this for 3 grand a month.

If I understood correctly ... you make 30 000 eb a month correct.

Well, I don't see the point going to make debt (have an overdraft, pay more interest than what you have too).

example, ever took out a overdraft to pay your bond ? overdrafts have the highest interest rates.

anyway, I am not preaching ... just saying

meh, I hate how they want you to get an overdraft. Really don't want one :p

I'll get the overdraft if they display it on my balance as a negative (so that I know I can go up to -R5000). All they do is "give" you R5000 and you have to know that when your account says R5000 it's actually 0. Screw that.

Not sure on personal, but on business the balance column will show - 5000 and available 0 if you have used your 5k overdraft.

Hi, Having money or debt requires discipline... its about being a grownup. If you can't control your urges then stay away from debt or an O/D or even a credit card for that matter.

Anyways - Use this as an example...The interest rate on my O/D is around 9% with the rebates. So in theory i could use my entire O/D and put it into another vehicle that has a higher return?
I know a friend who has an interest rate on his O/D of P-2%, so putting his O/D into just about anything other than a savings account - he will score.
So bottom line is - do your home work... and be disciplined.

If you have to pay R300 in interest a month - which has the effect of taking your ebucks from 15k to 30k, thats a pretty good return isnt it?

Ok, so I made time to read up about the overdraft and earning of ebucks.

If you spend less than R200 on the overdraft, its for free (no monthly fees). But, to earn ebucks, you need to spend at least R500 (10%).

Regarding the temporary loan, up to 13% is charged when taking out the loan. If you repay it within 31 days, no interest is charged.

All of the above came from FNB's website

I don't see you going from 15k to 30k just having an overdraft ... you need to spend from R30k to R50k on your cheque / CC. It isn't only on what level you are, but more how much you spend. The overdraft, personal / temp loan will be lets say 4000 or 5000 points.

Well, if you are on RL4,and you are in need of 1000 or 2000pts in order to get to RL5... Introducing an over draft in order to do this would then take you over the limit? And your ebucks would just about double, wouldn't they?

eg. Checkers benefit goes from 7.5% to 15%?

If you can push yourself up to RL5 another way - then go for it! I'm not telling you how to do it... im just giving an example.

My earlier example of how my O/D interest rate is low - and it is possible to have that money working harder for me inspite of the interest rate.... wouldn't it make sense to do so? The fact that it costs me interest, doesnt really matter if i am making more than that in returns? I should add that I am coming from a PW account, and i am not really familiar with the criteria on other accounts.

I just want to check up again? How do you guys pay your municipal bills and receive ebucks back on it? I have tried through e-tshwane, but that just creates a once off payment (I do not think this gives you ebucks?).
