I hope so :p

I'm trying to "save" as much as possible.

So with GOLD I can get to level 5?

I think so but check the ebucks website. They have a calculator there and you should be able to see exactly what your reward level will be after a month.

You can get to level 5 with GOLD, if you cheque and CC account are both GOLD (and you bank wisely)

I was on level 4 in Sept and in Oct the new rules came in. I didn't know about the packages should match. It took me 5 months to get from level 1 to level 5 again.

PC (aka Graphite) is basically Platinum with some bells and whistles for a higher service fee. No point unless you are going to use those extra perks.

If you do, let me know what changes. I've got the PC cheque and credit card waiting for me an "accept" button away, but methinks FNB just wants me to earn less ebucks.

Earn rules are the same, but earn rates are slightly higher so you will earn more ebucks for the same behaviour. But, the higher fee might negate that. The eBucks calculator on their website is the best way to check this. I did that and saw I would get about R40 more for the previous month, not enough of a gain since I won't be using eBucks/PC Lifestyle perks any time soon.

Being on fee-saver Platinum makes PC less attractive. I'd be going from a monthly cost of about R130 (cheque and ccard monthly "costs") up to R350 p.m. for PC. Fee saver means having to keep a minimum balance of 9k in one's cheque account for the perk of not being charged normal banking charges on said cheque account.

If you're on bundled Platinum at R199 p.m. then obviously less of a jump in cost compared to those of us on fee-saver.

As said before, going from Platinum to Private Clients or Private Wealth means that you need a lot more money in your FNB account to get to the lvl 5 rating.

It really is a trap unless you can keep a couple of hundred thousand in your bank account for free ebucks. The interest you'd get on that cash in equities or somewhere else makes the Ebucks rewards look weak in comparison.

No, PC earn rules are 95% the same as Platinum rules if i am not mistaken. PW rules, well that's a whole other ballgame, yeah.

It's actually not that hard to get RL5 on PW. It's just playing the game by their rules.
The only "special" things I've done is...
1) 2000dollars in a global account
2) 50k in an investment account

The rest is my normal banking behavior... And no I don't keep "a couple hundred thousand lying around" as that would be silly.

The benefits are typically 19-25k in ebucks each month and that's without too much spent on fuel - I work from home.

My fav benefit is my "free device" as its R469/month and I get to write that off to tax as well!

So the cash I have sitting in the investment+global accounts may not attract huge interest, but the ebuck benefit seems to me to be good!

Would you mind doing a breakdown of what you've gotten to get the various points? I'm on RL2 on PW at the moment.

Actually not :)

Private client and platinum has the same rules. I have upgraded from platinum to PC and just got more ebucks ,had to change nothing.
