Is there a limit on the number of smart devices you can have and get the R500 discount on?

Somewhat off topic but I thought I would mention an Avios Std Bank person called me to offer me their credit card and punt Avios rewards. He couldn't give me a rand value for each Avios point (you get 1 point for each R10 spent). After asking him for an example on what I could do with points earned, I roughly calculate their reward rate as anything between 1.5% and 3.5% depending on whether you shop at their partner stores or not. I told him eBucks is ten times better so, "No thanks".

My last payment for my smart device was 25th March, and they put me down to level 4.....so my earnings this month are half what they should be.

Have complained and will see what happens

I'm about to start comparing to see if it's worth it for me to move over to PC. Is there a calculator out there that I can input my costs/spends into to make it easier for me to see my potential earning difference?

Take your printout to the branch and get it stamped. YMMV though, some branches will do it, and some won't...

True, and the last 3 months statements are for free online to print (older, they charge a small fee for every printout per month)

Thanks!

I used that, but I kept thinking something was broken until I realised that when you select an account to compare against, they don't carry your current earn-points and rand-spend over to the comparison account. You need to manually enter/set all of it. Hope they change this, it would be a lot easier to compare to accounts if everything was just filled in from the start.

Yeah also thought that's silly and would have been much easier if they did as you suggest.

EDIT: It would be great if you could see your individual lines item spends categorized (Online vs Fuel vs Checkers etc.) Last month I maxed the 5 grand online spend but I don't know by how much I went over.

Hahahah.. no. I just used the randomise function to put some fake data in there. Cant have you looking at my pennies ;)

For V2 I'll probably incorporate the capped limits and Plat vs PC to see how my earnings would change. Will only do that once I have a few more month's data to compare.

So here's a question.

I recently moved to FNB and currently on L1. Trying to get this to lvl 3, but not sure if I can get higher than that with my Gold Cheque account?

I have a Gold Cheque account and no Credit Card except for Discovery.

Can I still benefit from eBucks or should I rather stay with Discovery (Diamond level)

Thanks

With the new rules, it's almost impossible to earn a lot of eBucks without an FNB credit card.
Go all in with one rewards scheme, don't fence sit between two.
IMO, eBucks is better at the moment. The reduction in partners, and Discovery Miles earn got me to cancel my credit card with Discovery and take out an FNB one.

Remember - many benefits on Discovery at Diamond level carry on even without the credit card (you just don't get Cash Back at the partners). You still get Healthy Food, Healthy Gear, the Dischem/Clicks cash back, flights/hotels at 35% discount, etc.

+1

This is my problem currently. I don't have an FNB credit card. As such I think I'm going to have a bit of an uphill battle getting to level 5.

Not an uphill battle. I think it's actually impossible without a CC.

To be honest, I have one, but I don't want to pay extra for eBucks :p How much is it to add on CC?
Free, if your credit card colour matches your cheque card (both are gold, or both are platinum etc)
