Yes but I AM getting inContact and want to be signed up for it.

Maybe I should just recommend an option be added for app notifications only.

Or try and see about switching it off in the app. SMS is just so archaic...

I often get the app notification later than the sms. So sms is safer imo. I prefer sms and wants to turn off the app notification, getting both is redundant.

So at least I'm not alone.

Tweeted them about it now.

To me the irritation is actually that they both come in at the same time. Also the App seems to ignore your minimum setting.

Does FNB Tax Free Savings Account count towards rewards for eBucks?
Specifically the Tax-Free Shares Account...

Personally I prefer the SMS system, which always work even if you run out of data, or worse in a location where SMS and Voice work but for some reason data has issues.

So I vote for being able to turn it off in the app.

I also take the emails, because they are much easier to search for historic transactions in gmail, which have helped me a couple of times if I wanted to remember when I did a specific transaction 2 years ago.

To stop receiving notifications from the app, just disable incontact in the app.
You will still receive email/sms notifications.

In case it isn't obvious where to others: Menu/Messages/Settings/inContact Settings/Disable inContact.

Ok, So FNB has been bugging me to upgrade to Private Clients for the past month or so, last year as well.

Now - their offering to upgrade my Credit Card to Private Clients as well (Increase in Limit, Decrease my interest Rate to 14%). Wouldn't this affect my eBucks earnings negatively?

I'm happily sitting with the Fee Saver option on Platinum with no intention to change.

The one issue with the private clients card is the minimum spend on the card per month before you start earning any ebucks...

Did you upgrade just because of the fee saver ?

I know a few friends who upgrade and downgraded the next month (because you are worse off private vs platinum)

I didn't upgrade as I'm on Fee Saver Platinum, and like to retain that.

Fee Saver on Private Clients requires 100k sitting unused in your current account.

Guess I'm not upgrading.

I'm on ebucks RL5 and Diamond status vitality.

Am I right in saying it would it be best to use the FNB CC for checkers and fuel (15% ebucks) and using the discovery card for other swipes/online purchases (6.66% back in vitailty miles as opposed to 2%/4% ebucks) ?

Or is my maths letting me down.

The issue is, for the 15% ebucks at Checkers and fuel, you need to have regular swipes or online transactions too.
Why?
Checkers is capped at 30% of total spend.
Fuel is capped at 20% of total spend.
So you need 50% of regular spend that is not at checkers or fuel, to qualify for the spend at checkers/fuel to earn ebucks on that.

Basically, either do it all at FNB, or do it all at Discovery. Personally I think the ebucks > discovery, unless when you shop for adidas clothes and get the extra 20% discount on discovery ect.

I know a few guys who was on level 5 ... upgraded .... and fell to level 1 again.

The only nice thing about upgrading for me is, you don't pay any fees for investment accounts.

You earn 1 Vit. Mile per R15 spent, and need 10 miles to buy R1, so the effective % discount on spending is 0.666% not 6.66%.

I upgraded and downgraded the day my cards arrived.

Wouldn't be earning anywhere near as many ebucks in a month.

Not an option on Windows Phone that I can find.

Also it still doesn't cater to my preference of using the App instead of SMS/Email.

But the option isn't there at present as they confirmed but will look into adding it in future.

Faark. They really screwed me over this month. No one told me my smart device contract had expired, so my last payment was in March.....and so they put me on level 4

Speaking of smart devices, I just paid one of mine up and because I get 100% back (up to R500 = eB 5,000) in ebucks (on PW L5), I might as well get another even though I don't *need* anything. Any suggestions based on the smart device vs retail pricing?

And therein lies the problem. Don't see anything that I want, and I have enough tablets and phones already. So the only option is a console or laptop. Again, don't see one that I want or need that is cheap enough
