Speaking of smart devices, I just paid one of mine up and because I get 100% back (up to R500 = eB 5,000) in ebucks (on PW L5), I might as well get another even though I don't *need* anything. Any suggestions based on the smart device vs retail pricing?

You get 100% back so get the most expensive thing (up to R500) and sell it.

I'm still on Gold, so no smart device eBucks return for me.

You could always get something and sell it to recoup Rands (unless that is not allowed).

The issue is, for the 15% ebucks at Checkers and fuel, you need to have regular swipes or online transactions too.
Why?
Checkers is capped at 30% of total spend.
Fuel is capped at 20% of total spend.
So you need 50% of regular spend that is not at checkers or fuel, to qualify for the spend at checkers/fuel to earn ebucks on that.

Basically, either do it all at FNB, or do it all at Discovery. Personally I think the ebucks > discovery, unless when you shop for adidas clothes and get the extra 20% discount on discovery ect.
Agreed. I think FNB eBucks wins hands down.

One correction for Discovery, its no longer a Adidas discount. It's now a Totalsports and Sportsmans Warehouse discount. Up to 25% on the one and up to 15% on the other.

You do get R50 back a month if you bought an device back in the days when they were running the promo.

I Am still recieving the discount ,started on gold went platinum and now PC still getting R50 back a month.

Ah yes.. never thought of it like that.

You earn 1 Vit. Mile per R15 spent, and need 10 miles to buy R1, so the effective % discount on spending is 0.666% not 6.66%.

Eish.. so my maths IS wrong. 0.6% sucks. So ebucks all the way for me then.

Thanks chaps!

Just a quick question. What legitimate alternative do I have if I'm applying for something and they want bank statements that is stamped by the bank? I assume this will count as a branch visit and affect my Ebucks status.

It does count as a branch visit and I don't know of any alternative. Some people seem to have success just using the emailed statements, but some places are difficult and want that dot-matrix print-out with a stamp.

I thought so. This is for a visa,so I'd rather not take a chance.

Take your printout to the branch and get it stamped. YMMV though, some branches will do it, and some won't...

If you with premier or private ask them to send stamped statements to you. Have done so a few times myself.
