Well, it not linking your CC to your ebucks account. If you earn ebucks, you can use your CC or Cheque Card. How I see it, why use my money while I can use the banks money and invest my own money at the same time.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. I see there is an option to link your ct card to your ebucks account, at a cost of R200 pa. Why would I want to do that? My cheque card is already linked - am I paying for this as well?

Not sure if I missed it, but how do you pay City of Tshwane using EasyPay?

I checked my old statements and found an EasyPay number, but all the new online statements don't includes this.

Is their some format xxx - account number - xxx?

Thanks

The new electronic statements doenst print it. But it is still the same. Sinse the big PO strike, I only get statements online or via my phone.

I registered last month via easy pay and used my CC to pay. And did the same today !

Trust me ... that is seen as online shopping ... 4% back ... whoop whoop

I have a situation whereby i'm losing out on Ebucks for fuel as i'm paying cash.

At our business we get cash in daily and I use that instead of withdrawing at an atm.

Do you lose points for cash deposits? If not then I can use my card for fuel and deposit the cash into that account at the end of the month

yes Nimz ... very wise. That is what I do ... spend only on my CC for fuel and shopping. Month end pay the full amount !

R4.50 for any amount if you use an easy account.

I use an easy account and just it transfer to my main account ,saves me loads of money each month.

Well, I pay cash into my bond via the advanced atm's ... and so far ... anything under R10k is for free. No deposit fees charged (or rather, what I can see)

The R200 pa is not the CC fee to get ebucks. On my side, ebucks gets debited from my CC account. And I mostly use my CC.

To earn ebucks there is a yearly fee. You can have your CC or cheque card linked and I think you can specify which one must be debited.

My CC also has a fee now as from July I think (and depending on the package it is higher)

What I am trying to say, you will pay an extra ebucks fee yearly, weather it is on your CC or cheque account. (come one, the bank is there to make money out of us).

Look at your statements in Feb ... that is the month the ebucks fee is deducted.

I cannot believe what happened today...i almost had a heart attack..i threw such a fit...went to Makro to buy my friend something to EARN ebucks..so get to the cashier and hand over my ebucks card (while holding my fnb card) and she asks me to put my pin in..please note that i dont shop that often at Makro...anyhow, i tell her I dont rememebr having to put my pin in last time so she tells me 'no you must' so i do...next thing..she has used my flucking ebucks to pay for my purchase instead of me earning ebucks..I clutch my chest and demand she reverses the transaction..she cant...i call a manager...confirms it cant be reversed. I start moaning rather loudly.every one starts looking at me and other fnb users look at me in sympathy.

Now, the money my friend has paid me back for the item purchased, can i transfer that cash from my cheque account into my ebucks via internet banking as they are all linked? I mean...FFS..why would i pay for something with my ebucks card when i can get a voucher with 40% off!!!

Hi Carol35 ....

No ... you cant move cash into your ebucks account according to me. I just know you receive ebucks as rewards.

And I double checked quickly online via the FNB online banking, you cant transfer anything into your ebucks account.

Mmmm, I would contact makro in this regard. The cashier should have asked do you want to pay or earn ebucks as a first.

Hope it wasn't something too expensive

Ahhhh...thanks so much for checking for me....grief, i was livid when i left and vloeked all the way home. I called the manager and made a little bit of a scene(ok, maybe abit more of a little scene) ..she said there is nothing they can do..i dont really know if i can escalate it with Makro. Guess school fees and the cash is in my account but still...what a waste of my ebucks when im so diligent in spending them. Was a xbox one game so quite pricey but not thousands luckily. Thanks so much :)

Well, if it was Makro's fault then the manager should have given you a voucher seriously. I buy a lot at Makro, and they are a lot at fault, and they make up somehow, trust me.

... so all and all you lost about 7000eb I would say as those games roughly R700

I must say we all do pay school fees ... but life is a adventure. :) and some battles you win and some you lose. Trust me, I was in the same boat as you there ... a difficult one.

Last time I was at Makro, they insisted on swiping my eBucks cards first before ringing up any of the items. I think it's to prevent a situation as what happened to Carol35. I'll also remember never to enter my eBucks card pin at a point of sale terminal.

Exactly that amount..R699... Lol..now my whole trek to go there to earn a few ebucks backfired spectaculary hehe.
Anyhow, i should hellopeter their arses just to calm my nerves and see what happens as the manager was not interested in my story..however, truth be told...it was hellava busy when i was there and maybe she thought it was trivial as i basically got the game for "free"...dunno...lesson learned...next time i will be clear and LOUD and as signates says, now i know to NEVER put my pin in...its the first time my ebucks card has been used for a purchase...i only buy 40% less vouchers.

No balance update for me, so I still don't "quality"

Random Checkers and Kalahari eBucks for a whopping 550 though.

To earn ebucks there is a yearly fee. You can have your CC or cheque card linked and I think you can specify which one must be debited.

Your cheque card is automatically linked for free. Only Gold credit cards and non bundled Platinum credit cards are charged the R200 fee to be linked for eBucks.

Look at your statements in Feb ... that is the month the ebucks fee is deducted.

The fee is deducted in your credit card anniversary month, so in your case it means that you got your credit card account in February. Others will have different anniversary months.

I just used Zapper at the spur in Cavendish. It was an easy decision - 25bucks off if you pay with it.

Now we established that snapscan is an online transaction. Does anyone know if Zapper is too?

How do these services work? Do they need access to your credit card or bank account? Do you EFT money to it?
