Is there a button somewhere for "pay my credit card" or is it a fully manual setup?

It's only due tomorrow so I'll see if it auto-pays today and if it doesn't I'll do it manually tomorrow.

Fully manual ,just like a normal transfer.

The auto payment usually only happens at 12am at night .

Okay so how does the auto-payment of the card work?

Firstly which option is actually the correct one for full payment of the balance? I chose the one that says "straight" in brackets behind it.

Secondly I set hte date to 31st of the month, but this month only being 30 days I wonder what happens now since I don't see it having auto-paid yet? Does it only happen at the end of the day? Does it just ignore the 30th and just won't do it or what?

I struggled for 3 months trying to get the right one.

I eventually found that "Actual balance settlement (straight)" pays the full balance.

I set the autopayment for the 25th of the month and that is went it moved money from my cheque to my credit card. So it does work.

I only got the notification sms on the 27th though.

Aaah yes a transfer makes perfect sense. Sorry I've never had more than one account with the same bank so it's never been an option for me except for my home loan.

Cool I'll wait it out then and see.

Was also toying with the idea of salary day but then figured starting clean at the beginning of the month makes more sense.

First item of qualifying criteria is:
ALL your FNB accounts must be active (which means you transact on them) AND in good standing (which means they are not overdrawn, in arrears or in default, and you are not undergoing sequestration or any legal process).

What worries me about "active" is the Global Account. I don't transfer money to it every month and I definitely don't spend any foreign currency for many many months. If that means the account is not active, I instantly get no ebucks at all. Once the new rules settle next month I'll try to find out if there's some extra criteria to call an account active.

I've got a question about the Global Account. To make it add to your eBucks points you have to have a certain amount of money in the account. Now, is it worthwhile having a Global Account? I mean, your money is lying in there and not making much interest.

Is it worthwhile for me to get a Global Account and if so, which currency should I choose? Last I saw the Indian Rupee gave you the most interest. Any help would be appreciated.

In my unqualified opinion, this all depends on what your currency of choice is going to do in future. It does no good to go with the Rupee if the currency depreciates in global terms during your investment period.

So don't use the interest rate as your only indicator...

Perhaps compare the historical trend of the rand vs some of the listed currencies and let that sway your decision?

Has anyone upgraded recently from platinum to PC or PW. I would like to upgrade but I'm currently on RL5 and have been told that for the transition month will drop to RL1 due to credit card system taking longer. Anyway to time this to not drop if I can get all my points in place based on the criteria for reward level points.
Thanks

I upgraded from Plat to PC on the 18th... will report what happens to me.

So! Today we all start using our Credit Cards a lot more :p

Put away that Cheque card everyone! :D

Sigh, they still haven't updated the calculator for the new rules. I'd like to see what it says.

Anyone know when in the month the new reward levels are allocated? I'm expecting it to increase since Wesbank finance gives points now.

You will only see it the first week of Aug. Ebucks are allocated for the way you bank/spend etc on the previous month

aah okay. It still shows my data and points accumulation from May, which is a bit confusing. Thought it would be updated to show June by now.

It will be updated after the 8th roughly. Mine gets updated on the 10th monthly. Mine also shows May's points (as we where in June yesterday)

I still have to work out if the capping of 20% of total spend is gonna hurt me or not. I suspect it will :(. 30% was much better.

@X-Gamer, i tried the new calculator last night. Seems to work just fine.

I never did use my cheque card, so now with the new rules (on Platinum) I should still score 20,000 points each month without any change in behaviour between June and July :D

Is there any source for these new Wesbank rules?
