Tips to Boost your eBucks

You guys are confusing cash back with cash withdrawal.

With cash back, you buy something and ask for cash back. The cash plus your goods are added together for the total transaction amount. You can use your cc for this.

For cash only, your cc will decline. You have to use a debit card.

Both count as cash@till...

Are retailers happy to give 'cash back'? Since they have to pay transactional costs on it...

They'll do it with a smile. Cash handling fees are much higher, along with the greater risk of dealing with cash. They're happy to get rid of it even if it means paying the transaction fee...

That explains it! I bought something and added the Cashback.

Either way, it comes back to whether they will charge you interest on the withdrawal/cash back.

Online shopping eBucks still not in on Gold :(.

I think if you do a straight eft from your credit card, or withdraw with it, interest will be added. I paid a few guys via FNB banking like that, and interest was added. I did it twice and thought what a rip off. (for the interest added)

Thanks for that Mike. Think that solved a few questions / queries / misunderstandings

Cash@till is at pick n pay also as far as I recall

I never managed to draw money at a PnP till...but havent tried in over a year, so maybe it changed?

If I can avoid it, I dont use cash. Can go months without touching the vile stuff! :p

Wish I could avoid it. But I always need it for arb stuff like paying for parking, or smaller merchants who don't accept cards, or paying car guards to not break into my car...

Got someone I know from level zero (not elligible for eB) to RL4 this month. Just one more thing to do and she will be on RL5 as of next month 8 October.

Btw, Cape Union Mart Vouchers are still listed under discounts. Someone said it had disappeared.

Anybody else taking advantage of the 40% back on eBucks for FNB Connect? I made a tidy sum on my wife's cellphone bill this month.

Had a few dropped calls, and a couple where the line was bad, but for the most part it's been pretty decent. And she hasn't complained about any data issues so I'm assuming that's working as well as it was when she was on MTN. Planning on moving myself there as soon as my contract expires.

I am rather using Telkom Mobile.

40% off when buying airtime with eBucks and data bundles only expire the end of the following calendar month.
i.e 2GB of data @ R139 means an effective R69.50 per month which is actually R41.70. Can't beat that....

Plus Telkom More gives you double airtime bonus. With this in mind for my personal usage I haven't paid for a call. :P

Force her phone to roam on Vodacom. Cellc still sucks but they at least allow you to use Vodacom's 3g network now.
