Can I ask you guys a random question?

Do any of you guys shop@house&home.

I need to buy a cellphone and would be cool to earn 15‰ back in the process.Does Checkers sell the Huawei P8 lite?

Thanx

Anybody else taking advantage of the 40% back on eBucks for FNB Connect? I made a tidy sum on my wife's cellphone bill this month.

Had a few dropped calls, and a couple where the line was bad, but for the most part it's been pretty decent. And she hasn't complained about any data issues so I'm assuming that's working as well as it was when she was on MTN. Planning on moving myself there as soon as my contract expires.

Got a prepaid SIM to test, I mean it makes financial sense, should you be on lev 5.

Network was horrible. Didnt have any signal at work, or home (Bryanston and Morningside respectively). Chucked the SIM into the bin after 24h of testing.

Did you try roaming on Vodacom? You make a valid point. It is better to test fnb prepaid for at least a month and then commit. Dont port your number until you have tested the service for a month.

I see no point being an fnb customer anymore. Noticed I get more ebucks than my credit card spend.

Have you considered absa's reward system. They give you cash back to spend anywhere you choose.

Dont withdraw cash @ a till. You receive points for not using the cash@till option and exclusively transacting electronically.

Set up an ewallet and withdraw cash via an ATM. It wont mess with your points and is somewhat safer than withdrawing big amounts at a till.

Nope, you get points for using cash@till exclusively.

Well shoot.

I've dropped to level 4 and I don't see a way to easily get back up to level 5 for a while. Part of my drop was due to InContact details not being updated in a year. So, I've just updated those and set a reminder to update them next year on the 1st of August.

But another reason for the drop was because August was a relatively spend heavy month, credit card wise, and I'm not sure whether September (or indeed any future month) will be as expensive. In other words, in August I got 1500 points because I spent R10k or more on my credit card. I think September will be the same thanks to some dentistry I needed done, but after that, its back under (well under) R10k. That removes 500 points from my total.

So, with updated InContact details, I'll be at 17500 points. With a heavy September credit credit card wise, I'll be at 18000 points. But October? Level 4 for sure.

I have about 6 months to go before I get another 1000 points for not having gone over my limit in 18 months. My other option is the one where you get 1000 points if you invest R500 per month or more in an investment account - problem is you need a minimum balance of R5k.

Don't buy airtime with ebucks. You get 15% back on airtime ...

The options available to me is either 15% back on airtime or 40% off when buying it with eBucks. May be something to consider.

Currently I have eBucks set to go 90% into a flexi-fixed and 10% into eBucks account.

Look at all of your bills in the month.

Identify 3 cheap bills and pay via debit order.

Pay the remainder of your bills via easypay website. It will contribute towards your monthly spend on credit card.

Try to pay most of your bills online and via your credit card. It will help you earn points and you will be rewarded at 3‰.

N.b there is a R3000 cap on the gold card and R5000 platinum for online purchases.

I see flights via Emirates can get up to 40% discount on RL5. But when I played around on the Ebucks Travel site I could not find any flights that qualify for this. The T's and C's mention "selected flights" but where do one find these flights?

Anybody here used the ebucks discount on flights before?

Or you can take out a temporary loan for R300.

R39 fee - Just ensure that it's paid up within the same month.

I made use of this. You can apply online, takes less than 2 minutes from start to Finnish. The loan is repaid once money is deposited in your bank account, so everything is automatic.
