"POS and Cash@Till usage more than Cash (ATM and Branch)
Card swipes and/or Cash@Till exceeds ATM and FNB branch withdrawals: 1000pts
Swipe your card and use Cash@Till only: 1500pts"

Regarding the 4000 points, I was thinking about using your CC only, and not cash@tills.

It looks like to get the cash@Till points, one need to withdraw some money, even if it is R50

Well yeah. That's obvious I usually just get a few hundred for parking and such. Never really use cash.

Went to a market the other day and a lot of the vendors had Snapscan, which is awesome!

Payment, sure. But cash deposits draw large fees.

Not really that large, 0.7% on Gold.

Even if you deposited the cash yourself there would be no effect on your eBucks. I often deposit cash, take the 0.7% hit, and make it up by spending the cash on fuel, earning back 15%.

@StrontiumDog: I made a similar mistake 2 months ago (spending on cheque instead of CC) and was expecting the worst last month. However, it didn't pick the transaction up and I stayed on level 5. I'm dreading the upcoming update though, as I fear it might only affect me this month. We shall see. Anyway, what I was trying to say is that your friend might somehow scrape through, but he shouldn't get his hopes up.

You lose 1000 rewards point for having performed a branch transaction. Doesn't matter that it wasn't you - it went into your account.

My thoughts exactly... My whole eBucks philosophy is to make back my banking fees.
I must admit though, the amount of time/effort I spend having to consciously behave in a certain way to maximise eB is disproportionate to the eB3500 that I score. If there was a way to make an extra R600 a month with less effort, I'd much rather do that

^ i dont find its an effort in terms of behaviour any longer. Just recon once a month when I'm left wondering about what transactions were counted.

Though i do have to keep an eye on how my old man spends on the ccard i issued to him.

For 11k eBucks a month its worthwhile for me.

The Revo is expensive but has a 15 W speaker so sound will be good. There are cheaper models if you're prepared to use Amazon.

Double sacrilege, you say it cost you nothing because eBucks were used? I cannot say the same if I spent 5 months worth of eBucks (R9,130)!
