Tips to Boost your eBucks

There is a certain amount that needs to be deposited into your account each month (salary?), so if you are on an account type that is seemingly above your means you will not qualify for ebucks. The amount varies depending on silver/gold/platinum etc

To add to this, the limits are
Gold - minimum deposits into cheque account R5,500
Platinum - minimum deposits into cheque account R16,500

Downgrade to Gold if you're on Platinum and don't meet the minimum monthly deposits...

If your cheque account qualified to earn eBucks then most probably its that your credit card account was not in good standing.May be a missed minimum payment?
Or even you haven't linked it yet? I only linked mine after I bought a smartdevice and started using my credit card to get my R50 back

My credit card is unlinked, but I qualify, so I doubt it is that.
Are you know gonna link it? Or are you jumping the ship (was my first thought)

Am gonna upgrade credit card to platinum and see what I can do with the new rules.

Am really pissed off with the changes as I was comfortably on 5 knowing that 1 or 2 bad months would be fine. December and April are typically my worst months

Linking has been done, and as can be seen the credit card is in good standing. Minimum cheque deposit is also done (the cheque account wouldn't show as qualified if not).

Which is why I'm confused. I don't see why it would show the credit card as unqualified with the mentioned circumstances.

Edit : and yes, both accounts are on the same tier, gold.

Debeer, ask the eBucks team to tell you why your credit card didn't qualify. You might wait a while for an answer though!

Else ask someone you trust to take a look at your stuff and see if they can see why :)

Will do. Was hoping someone here might have had a similar issue or that I was missing something.

Really dread having to use call centers

I will link it, but only on the 1st of October.
Reason for it being unlinked, is that credit cards had a yearly fee to be linked.
Seeing as both my accounts are on platinum, if I link it 1st of October, I will get full discount on the linking fee as of Oct 2014.

I could link it it now...but will rather skip the mission of getting a refund on the yearly fee. Linking it is instant via the ebucks website anyways.

I don't recall seeing this annual linking fee in many years. Unless it's hidden / bundled with other annual charges.

It's been there for as long as I can remember (been with FNB for far too long, since my student days in 2004). Mine used to go off in August, which is when it was initially linked, and then later I unlinked it just before that fee was suppose to go off again.

Currently I hold a gold cheque account and a platinum CC.

With the new rules coming in I would only be lvl 3 on platinum, vs lvl 5 on gold.

Thus it would make sense for me to downgrade to gold on my CC.

Would the earning of ebucks still work the same, albeit at a lower percentage. I mostly use my CC for purchases over my cheque card.

Thanks,

I had similar issues likes yours before, I think its just a site issue not displaying correctly. I still got ebucks for my swipes. Think I called the call center once and they couldn't really explain...

OK, I jumped in with my platinum credit card upgrade. They told me the combined fee for cheque + credit will be R200
