haha - just realized yesterday that all those 40% discounts on level 5 are applicable only if you buy the products in ebucks. Or am I wrong?

No you're not wrong. You need to buy those vouchers with your eBucks in order to get the 40% off. You then use the vouchers in store and redeem for goods.

Your earn level just means you earn more points / can achieve better discounts.

When do the points for last month kick in? I'm waiting to see what my new earn level is. It still shows level 1, but by my calculations I should be level 4 or 5...

Will take a while because the system does not update over the weekends , so hope to see it on Monday.

Have an FNB Investment with a minimum balance of:
• R10 000 to R49 999 - 1500
• R50 000 or more - 2500

Is it wishful thinking that the Share Investor balance counts towards the above?

Make sure about the term of the investment for it to qualify. I think it has to be 12 month minimum.

There is one exception to this rule that I was made aware of recently. That is if you buy airplane tickets, you only need to pay a certain minimum amount with ebucks, the rest you can pay with money to still get the 40% discount on the whole ticket.

Just did my bi-monthly grocery shop @ Checkers as opposed to Pick N Pay or Spar that I usually use.

Have made a plan to go shop twice a month instead of popping in to my local. Want to see how that affects ebucks points / value of the 15% saving.

Quite a bit. Slightly less now than before the 1st of Oct rule changes.
Was 2% vs 15%. (level 5)
Now 4% vs 15%. (level 5)

Thus you should get quite a bit more ebucks now, if you are on level 5.

Ok so vouchers can only be bought completely with Ebucks? No part payment in Rands and part Ebucks?

I bought some Takealot stuff with a price that drained my ebucks account to 0 and payed the remaining few rands with credit card. Simple enough, but I have 0.6 ebucks left. How does one spend fractional ebucks? This is 6 cents so I'd of course need something where I can pay the rest with real money, but also a place that will accept this fraction. I didn't notice the fraction when paying at Takealot, so I assume they wouldn't want it, but I could try again and specifically enter the fraction. Might be best to wait for the next round of ebucks earnings to make it more substantial.

I have to deposit R17000 into global account to get equivalent Rupee amount and it has generated R70 till date as interest.
Thank you, I was not aware of this global account facility in FNB, will definitely look into this. Transfer fees from cheque to global is 50 rands and not bad if one transfer chunk of money.

Well the global account is the easiest way to boost ebuk points if you don't have a home loan, should help to put anyone on level 5 really if you do enough of the other things.

I am not sure about this as the new rules dont about term. However the old rules for the discount booster are:

I made sure I put the total amount to take my ebucks balance to zero.

I bought a Kalahari voucher with part cash to get to Zero Ebucks.
