Tips to Boost your eBucks

Finally back to level 5 on PC. Only problem though is that with all the downgrading and upgrading in order to get both my cc and cheque accounts on the same level, my spend on my cc, where I do all my swipes, was not included so I did not earn any eBucks this month.

My banker is working on this and when the dust settles I should be getting about 20k in eBucks for October and another 20k for November.

I'm *new* to the ebucks world... and trying to understand how to adapt behaviour without making like a nuisance...

Can I pay for my water / rates online @ easypay.co.za and get bucks back?
Can I pay for them @ a shoprite and get more?

If i switch some of my auto payments to come off my cc instead of my cheque account would that work? I assume not.

But if i was to make the effort and pay for say dstv at a shoprite - would that accumulate ebucks? And would it be @ the shoprite / checkers rate or would it be at the standard rate?

These are of course the money transactions so maybe they accumulate bugger all, in which case its a dead end.

Thanks

This month now I have the same problem where they can't add up the points correctly.
The also didn't award my cash@till withdraws, extra cards or online shopping points.
Down to L3 where I should be L5. WTF is going on?!?!?!?!?

Spoke to call center again this morning and they didn't even fight me on the "mistakes".
She just logged the problem and will get back to me. Guess I'm not the first person to complain today.

This has been explained numerous times in the thread, but here we go again.

1. Yes you will accumulate ebucks for paying dstv, rates etc online via credit card.

2. Paying online via credit card earns more ebucks than paying it at a shoprite/checkers. (you can earn up to 4% back. 5% if on PC

3. Paying these bills at shoprite/checkers will be normal swipes. All money market swipes are normal swipes.

I'm on Gold .... I noticed my eBucks are mostly updated now (only eB for Fuel isn't added to the total, but you can see how much you've earned if you navigate to "My eBucks" --> "How I got this")
I managed to make RL4, but I wanna kill the investment account cos it claims to be Shari'ah compliant but it's doesn't look that way... FNB is the cow that keeps on giving (...giving cowdung that is)
So, I'll lose 1500 RL point there and maybe get it back by activating an additional card and petro card (even though i'll never use them!). It'll add fees, but I'll lose more in eB by dropping to RL3.
I really really really don't wanna have to get a credit card, but I guess it's the only way to make RL5 on Gold without a home loan or an investment account.

Sorry - i tried searching for it but i guess im not very good at searching :-( The word "rates" came up a lot for obvious reasons

But - thank you for the reply. Appreciate it

is it worth it adding a secondary credit card and petro card if you have just begun starting to use fnb services! I see you gain points after 1 -2 years. Please advice willing to move over my account if it is worth it. I won't be taken out any home loan or car loan.

It all depends on your potential eB earn with it vs without it.
You're gonna have to go through your banking habits and compare it against the eB earn rules and eB Reward Levels to figure out where you'd fit (Reward Level) and what your earn would be at that RL.
Then play with the levels and check if it's worth paying for additional services to gain more eB.
For me, if I am on RL3 or below, i don't even recover my banking fees for the month.
But paying for the extras services to get to RL4 or RL5 will actually earn me more than enough to cover the cost as well as plenty of extra to make it worth the while.
Then it's down to philosophical questions rather than monetary questions (e.g. Do i want a petro card that i will never use) :)

Is this FNB Connect pricing correct?? I'm supposed to get 80% discount.

R79.80p/m vs R301.71 pro rata

It should be updated by now as I got my FNB Credit Card: Credit Card Statement - MR xxxxxxxxxxx - 2014-12-06 this morning 04h18

Why do you say it is not Shari'ah compliant?

Why do you say it is not Shari'ah compliant?
I didn't know until the consultant said they were gonna pay out a fixed return on the investment dependent on the length of the term. No matter how you slice it, that's not Shari'ah (according to how I have heard numerous Ulema explain the concept of Halaal investments).
On a related note, the prominent local Ulema who previously made up the Shari'ah advisory board all stepped down a little while back... I'm sure that's a sign that something wasn't to their liking. I'll forward you the letter they sent if i can dig it up.
I'll PM you so we don't derail the thread :)

Ti_e to switch to FNB NEW

From 1 October 2014, a Bundled pricing option is available where you can pay a fixed discounted monthly account fee, which includes your Platinum Cheque Account as well as Platinum Credit Card monthly fees. The bundle also includes up to 5 free additional cards and the eBucks linkage for your Credit Card.

Good News! From 1 October 2014, Customers who hold a Platinum Cheque Account on the unlimited pricing option and a Platinum Credit Card will automatically be moved to the Bundled Pricing Option.

I only joined FNB in October, and am getting the points for "Do all your payments and transfers for 6 months or more via our electronic channels instead of an FNB Branch"
This an error?

Same here :( Have they once again decided to change the rules without notifying us.

Updated terms and conditions

https://www.ebucks.com/web/eBucks/legal/termsandconditions/

Would have thought by reading terms and conditions that they would have the courtesy to update links(outdated benefits) https://www.ebucks.com/web/eBucks/earn/fnb-credit-card.jsp

Right under How to earn eBucks I see the following

Depending on your reward level, you'll earn eBucks on your FNB Credit Card, expiring on 30 September 2014, as follows:
