Tips to Boost your eBucks

I just received the ebucks that I was to have received on the 8th for CC shopping.

I've been pushed from RL4 to RL5, but did not earn the required 18,000 points. I'm on Gold Card & Cheque.

We all start at 0 points come 01 January, right ?

Then throughout the year, we build up our points? So no one really has a level 5 in the first half of the year?

Is all month to month now.

I don't think that has changed.
I think it's around the 6th/7th/8th/9th to the following month of 6th/7th/8th/9th.
Go look at your Credit Card Statement dates.

My ebucks RL was adjusted and extra eBucks added automatically on the 18th.

Hi All.. newcomer to FNB so hoping to rack up the rewards. 2 questions:

1. I'm guessing that "paying online" means using that supplier's creditcard portal and not EFTing stuff?
2. For the FNB connect discount, it's no longer necessary (after the october changes) to use your cheque card for the rewards?

PS. I have platinum Cheque and Credit cards on the R199 deal.

Welcome to FNB

1) POS is counted. EFT do not Count. Debit Orders Count (try to get 6 or more)
2) I'm not sure

Guys, is one's fuel spend and capped limit (20% of total credit card spend) determined based on a calendar month or is it still determined by one's credit card statement as it was pre-October 2014. I wonder if this isn't why I'm getting short changed on fuel discounts of late.

Calender month

WTF, when did this change???

From Oct 1st. The ebucks received, level earned etc in November was based on transactions in the calender month of October.
Compare your statement with your ebucks received, it it clear that they are now using the calender month.
I lost out on level 5 this month due to this change!

The calendar month thing now makes it freaking difficult as the end user to keep track of one's spend ratio for the various limits. One would have to manually keep track of credit card expenditure... alternatively change one's billing cycle to make things easier.

What an pain in the donkey's behind!!

Just checked they didn't add up my credit card spend and online shopping spend correctly. Ebucks consultant said there was an issue last month.

I am hating the credit card data one can download. We have multiple credit cards and the data (unlike cheque card), does not provide cc number etc. Cheque card extracts imo was way better.

On level 5 I get 15% back in prepaid airtime. Is this only airtime purchased from FNB's online portal or can they somehow differentiate between airtime bought in a store?

I've yet to renew my contract so i'll probably be making use of this for a while until I decide what to do.

Only via FNB online banking ,fnb app or cellphone banking.

What date is the ebucks level usually updated? I would like to see if my activity was good enough for keeping level in December.
