Heres a question...
The doctors we frequent (family of 4) is at the local Medicross, who I noticed allow for payment with an Edgars card.
I have never had store cards of this nature... but is this feasible..

1) Pay for Doctor Visits with Edgars card
2) Pay Edgars card online

Thereby getting double ebucks points and that amount goes towards the online spend.

So - is it possible to pay an Edgars account online?

No but you can swipe your credit card at the store to pay your bill. So you will earn ebucks when you do that.

This how I pay my account every month.

Sounds helluva intricate. Must be easier ways to get points and earn eBucks.

Yes, before the new rules kick in and if you not sure if you'll still be on Level 5
It's also possible there'll be no discount on Makro vouchers later in the year. Most of the discounts on vouchers have disappeared.

Are you speculating or did you hear this somewhere?

well im trying to optimize the return on my spend. My "Other" spend on my cc statement is massive.. and i can attribute up to 3grand a month @ the doctor in winter, so i figured id ask the question.

As far as I know Edgars does not have an online pay facility and using an Edgars card to pay for anything incurrs admin fees

Checkers vouchers can be used to pay accounts (which you will not earn 15% on). Though you still need some online account payments to get those points.

So you don't decrease your 15%earn in any way, and can get a 40% discount on some accounts. Use the money saved to invest as you wish.

Thank you for this. Almost like role reversal

It's a fact that numerous shop vouchers were discounted a few months ago. Some months ago Incredible Connection, Yuppiechef, Tafelberg, Le Creuset as well as several others were all available at a discount. Now there are far fewer, and some come, others go. Yuppiechef was a couple of weeks ago, but Incredible Connection not. Now it's the other way round. Is there any particular reason Makro would be the one that doesn't ever get discontinued?

Please tell me which accounts you can pay with Checkers vouchers. I tried to pay pay both my municipal and Telkom accounts with a voucher and they refused.

Was at Checkers Somerset West.

I wasn't sure if they would accept, so last month I went to the payments kiosk inside Checkers and asked. The lady checked some kind of list, and said yes. I then paid a municipality account (electricity) for the full R1k voucher value.

Definitely possible, was just checking if you had some inside info..

Because even outside of eBucks discounts they seem to be willing to run specials of up to 20% (guesstimating here) in any given week, so they seem to be making quite a healthy markup generally speaking and willing to take the knock when it comes to the eBucks programme?

Can somebody remind me please - are scheduled payments seen as debit orders for the benefit of eBucks?

Scheduled payments are known as "Stop orders" so doubt they are seen as debit orders.

The bank charges for them are usually different too, for example, on the FNB R4.95/month account, stop order = free without bank charges, but manual payment without being scheduled costs money. On this same account, debit order incurs bank charges.

Thanks

Sadly as I suspected..

Hi. I'm currently a student with a smart account at FNB. This month so far I made 3 online purchases at Takealot all under R300 each. But I haven't earned any ebucks. Is there a minimum amount I am supposed to spend before I can earn?

Ebucks are calculated and awarded once a month, around the 9th
