:erm:

You honestly get people with this type of financial management skills? :o

Well I had no choice - I had a holiday to Spain and then had to get my teeth done.

I don't keep money lying in my cheque account because everything goes into repaying debt - first credit card debt, then vehicle finance, then home loan. I'm not in massive credit card debt, as I said its just because of the trip to Spain and having my teeth done.

It surprises me that people are willing to get into debt to go on holidays

Normally the Shoprite/Checkers vouchers come as Checkers branded. Received Shoprite branded ones today. These can be used at either store, right?

Edit: Back of card says only Shoprite stores :(. Ebucks site says and Shoprite/Checkers/Liquour...

Look at all of your bills in the month.
Identify 3 cheap bills and pay via debit order.
Pay the remainder of your bills via easypay website. It will contribute towards your monthly spend on credit card.
Try to pay most of your bills online and via your credit card. It will help you earn points and you will be rewarded at 3‰.
N.b there is a R3000 cap on the gold card and R5000 platinum for online purchases.
I pay Telkom via EasyPay but I leave R50 unpaid so that the debit order also goes through, and counts towards the "3-debit-order" rule
<insert Terminator smile here>

I'm confused.
Is ADSL uncapped now free for Gold account RL5 members, or do we pay full price and then get some ebucks benefit as it said on the new rules? Their websites are not clear on this.

https://www.fnb.co.za/fnb-connect/uncapped_adsl/index.html
vs
https://www.fnbconnect.co.za/rewards.shtml
vs
https://www.ebucks.com/web/eBucks/features/fnb/earn-rules-2015.jsp
- "No longer earn eBucks on prepaid electricity or get a discount on your monthly Uncapped ADSL Data subscription, but instead enjoy new ways to earn eBucks..."

But the above FNB Connect site still shows that I as a Gold member will get a discount on my ADSL uncapped.

On the fnbconnect site, when you try to subscribe it will tell you how much it will cost. Mine showed the R399 platinum discount there.

So does mine. But I am a gold account member. And according to the new rules I should not qualify for a discount any longer.
Hmmm, perhaps I should just keep quiet about this? :)

From the FNB Connect site:
"Uncapped accounts are billed monthly in advance.
You will be billed on the 26th day of the month for the next months allocation.
If you purchase an account on or before the 25th of the month, you will be charged at a pro rata rate for this month's allocation immediately, and then charged your monthly amount on the 26th for the following months allocation.
If you purchase an account on or after the 26th of the month, you will be charged at a pro rata rate for this month's allocation and the full amount for the next months allocation immediately. "

Currently it shows as free for me (I'm on RL5), but above they say they charges a month in advance. If I should sign up now, would they charge me on the 26th for next month at the full cost as we don't know whether I will still be on RL5 next month. Or how does this work?

In reply to ^^
Yes, e.g. the 1st of the month you are RL5 and now you want to subscribe like our friend Nimz here. So you sign up and you get your 100% free 4mbps or 6mbps account, zero rand billing.

**On the 8th you drop down to RL4. On the 26th you get billed for the next month at 80% discount. (Note, I'm not sure of the exact discount percentages)

NB: Don't cancel if you drop a level as they warn against this. It may be a schlepp to reinstate your account or something. Rather downgrade if you want to be charged less.

** Note if you don't drop down to RL4 and maintain RL5 on the 8th you will get the next month free even if you drop down to RL4 in the next month on the 8th.

‘Do you perform at least one financial transaction a month using the FNB Banking App?’

What qualifies for this?
I bought elec via the bank app and FNB are saying this does not qualify...

I transfer from my cheque to my credit card once a month using the app (have a reminder in Outlook).

For PW, what is the rules for overdraft? What is the minimum amount of overdraft I can add to my account, and can I still get away with just going into overdraft for a 2 week days?

When the rule changes came about my banker told me the overdraft amount was raised etc but I cannot see that it the current rules page.
