What does it do?
Does it show your behaviour for the previous month, or behaviour for the current month to date?
It's never worked for me :(
...and I've tried on like 10 different occasions (no exaggeration, when i exaggerate i say "50 million times")

Previous month, and allows you to do what-if type things and shows what your resulting rewards would have been.

I have a question for you guys and require clarity please.

I am on the gold account and need extra points.

I would like to get a smart device which contributes towards my reward level. The device I want to take is a basic Huawei for R29 x 24 months.

I have called fnb and queried if the device will contribute towards my rewards level.

I spoke to ebucks department and they told me to speak to the smart device department. Neither of them know the answer to my question.

In fact both departments told me that there is a minimum spend needed for you to earn points towards your rewards level. Nobody could tell me which smart devices help you earn points.

Do any of you have experience with this? Thanx

Go to the ebucks calculator. See if there's an option there about smart device.

Same with me, have tried numerous times but never working

For PW, what is the rules for overdraft? What is the minimum amount of overdraft I can add to my account, and can I still get away with just going into overdraft for a 2 week days?

When the rule changes came about my banker told me the overdraft amount was raised etc but I cannot see that it the current rules page.

For Platinum you have to use at least R1000 and it has to be 10% IIRC. That means the smallest amount of overdraft is R10 000, and you have to use the R1000 for a full 24h on a weekday.

ok found it in some obscure PDF via Google

Have an Overdraft facility of at least R20 000 on your Private Wealth Cheque Account of which you have used:

• Between 20% and 39.9% 1000
• Between 40% and 59.9% 2000
• Between 60% and 100% 3000

So that's 4000 rand into overdraft for a day or two.

Good day Mr. XXX,

Kindly be advised that the below Credit Card Online refunds affected you from earning eBucks in August. Please note that in July you made a SOUTH AFRICAN AIR purchase and you received the allocations on those transactions and this is the reason no eBucks were allocated for the month of August 2015.

CV SOUTH AFRICAN AIR N 1,763.71-
CV SOUTH AFRICAN AIR N 3,684.00-

Regards,

Good day

The SAA transaction for July was for R11865.44 (being only a portion of my online spend). As per the new rules only R3000 of which qualified in the online category.

The amounts below were reversed because of a cancellation on one SAA ticket.

I have been double penalised as I did not earn anything over the R3000 limit, and now the reversal of a portion also counts against me.

The new rules suck.

Regards

Just booked Avis using ebucks travel. Saved 40% off the Avis price. Pretty straightforward, lots of T&C to read. It told me I needed EB 3000 to get the maximum saving, so only used that and paid the rest using my CC. Received a voucher for my booking in my email shortly after.

For the identical booking:
Total amount on Avis : R1200
Total amount on Thrifty: R980

Total amount on eBucks travel (RL5): R750
Amount paid in eBucks: 3000
Amount paid using Card: R450

Am well happy with this, can't believe I didn't use it before. Oh, and the Ebucks one included windscreen cover for free too!! Was an extra on Avis direct

What's included with Avis discount ? Is it rent incl per km charge? I am not sure abt it

Same as what was on the Avis website, so 200km and I chose super cover. The extra options have to be booked separately though. So: GPS,baby seat, etc were not shown in the Ebucks website. You would have to talk to Avis to add that to the booking.

One caveat, if you are changing the booking (dates, cancel, etc) you have to do it with ebucks at a charge of R115 or something like that. I would test that though....as I noticed my booking was loaded onto the Avis website immediately

Anyone care to confirm how the lounge visits work with Platinum?

I know local I can use slow lounge but for international which lounge is it tied to? BA?

Any tips with regards to the lounges? Flying next week and haven't really used them other than one time domestically.

Thanks!

Well, what is that windscreen cover worth? Excluding that, Thrifty is only R32 more than the eBucks route, in real terms. Because eB3000 is worth R498 at Makro...

You are miscalculating, and apples vs pairs too. R980 vs R750 . Avis and Thrifty are also not the same in quality. I also earn voyager SAA on Avis. My flights (3 people) back to Joburg are all voyager tickets so need to replenish

That R750 could be EB 7500 or split between ebucks (3000) and cash (R450) . I went for the second option as i prefer saving the ebucks

^ I know nothing about Thrifty and mentioned the apples vs 'pairs' because you did :)

Miscalculating i am not... Paying eB7500 would have been worse, i agree on that!

Does anyone know if you get a bank statement printed, does it:
1) Effect your bucks reward points?
2) How much do you get charged for it?

I have my parents Medical Aid Debit Order on my Bank and they request the Bank Statements.
Or does anyone have another solution regarding the Bank Statements required for SARS.
