True story. 35% or something.
When I purchased my 2007 Audi A6 in 2009, I had to strip the existing tint off and re-tint. It was an ex blue light brigade A6 and the gov had blackened the freaking windows.
I took delivery of the car with the existing tint on at around 18H30. I could hardly see other cars around me on my way home - with their lights on. Dunno how they drove this car around like that.
Well, that's probably why they crash so often and also shoot at other motorists. Whenever they actually see somebody they crap themselves.
Nobody will know that, because they haven't been transparent with the details of the tender. They have used every excuse in the book not to publish the specifications of the system and the details of the financial transactions.

If we put aside the fact that it is wrong/illegal/daylight robbery which we all agree on and look at how much we pay everyday for convenience, I might just be willing to get an e-tag and pay the fees if it means driving on a non-congested freeway.
BUT, since the freeways will remain clogged up - no. I'd rather driver alternative routes.

Pondering about the rental car agency. It's really a tricky one. When in the passed if you didnt pay the boom would not lift - no payment no access. The driver would have to pay
But now with this system, the etag owner (or car owner) would have to pay. The rental car companies can't controll where the driver would go, meaning he could drive up and down the freeway. This is variable and risky expense.
Then, at the end of the week, the rental company would have to pay (because it's their etag and vehicle so they'll get the bill). Then they would have to charge the driver - the biggest risk of non-payment.
I would guess the best way to do it is force the driver to put a deposit down valuing the max toll amount per month, and then refund the difference back to the driver a few days later?

Its not a risk to them, they will just shift the risk to you. When you rent a car they block the required funds on your card. When you return the car they bill you accordingly i.e. traveled km's and fuel etc.. and release the hold.
I guess what will happen now is that they will keep the hold until such time as they have verified the e-toll charges after which they will charge you as normal.
If this is the case then expect a chunk of your credit to be on hold until they have the detailed billing of toll charges.
I will not be surprised if they add a clause to their contract stating that they have the right to bill your card at anytime should they find any and or additional charges related to e-toll after the fact.

Normally they hold on to your CC details for this kind of stuff, but can you imagine how upset a tourist or business person would be if they were not properly aware of how the tolls work (most of them no doubt) and then suddenly get a whole whack taken off their cc? Very tough to find not so obvious back routes in a city you don't know with your GPS constantly telling you to turn on to the tolled road to get to your destination.
