To emmigrate or not?

There are at least 2 kinds of people who emigrate :
- Those emigrating for earning a lot of money : destinations like Dubai, Middle East, London, Switzerland... are dedicated for those wanting to start their career. Peoples who do this are young, and will certainly come back to their home
- Those emigrating for starting a new life. They are minority, but won't go back to their home.

In my opinion, wandering around the world is good when your are young. But when getiing older, starting a family, building a home and wanting a future for the children will be the first choice made.

South Africa is not too bad, when you avoid non-go areas. It is like in France, Grat Britain, Germany, or even Russia, USA, Netherlands. I wont advise suburbs, Saint Etienne or Marseille in France but I will recommend Brest, FontainBlau or Neuilly sur Seine

I will not recommend Charleroi or Brussels in Belgium but I will for Namur for instance.
Same for London,Leeds, Liverpool vs Saint Andrew

In South Africa you have certainly good areas to live and build a family.
Of course corruption, governement lazyness or incompetency can affect your way of life. But no country is perfect. The debt in Belgium, France is totally incontrolable. UK suffers from Ethic and Religious troubles.

There is no good or bad decision to leave a country. It depends on what you want to do with your life. Don't do an emotional move !

You could be in the worse suburb in any of those countries in europe and you wont get people killing you for your shoes or for R10 like in SA.You cant compare South Africa with countries where they actually value life.

Actually, this does also happen in aforementioned European countries.
Just not at such a high rate like in SA.

Please show me in the EU where they killing people for their shoes or £1.

Indeed. What I heard from a friend in Croatia, they will break in, steal and maybe knock you around a bit, but will keep you alive, as you can't rob the same person if he's dead. Keep your potential "clients" alive, and you'll get repeat "business" from them. Kill them, and you'll run out of "business".

Croatia had about 80 muders in a year according to the UN Survey on Crime Trends, compare that to South Africa.

You can't compare South Africa to those countries.

Even in the so called "good areas" in South Africa it is not safe! Just look at how people are being tortured to death in these "good areas" for a cellphone or less.

Also in non of those countries you mentioned you will hear the citizens warning to kill if a political leader is not elected as president.

Croatia has 5 million people about 9 times less than south africa.

So 80x9=720 fck why not 100x80=8000...still nowhere near the amount in south africa.

Sorry, but I call BS on this one.

Here are some examples of "Good Areas" in the Cape:

- Campus grounds in Stellenbosch
- Durban Road cafe mile, Durbanville / Bellville
- Hermanus CBD
- Camp's Bay beachfront

Now, there may be pickpockets or people that try to jerk and pull of your handbag, or run past you and grab your cellphone if you are talking on it, but especially in broad daylight, for the life of me I cannot see how a criminal will take your cellphone, bump your to the ground, rape you, cut your abdomen open and rip out your guts and strangle the on-lookers, and then slit your throat with a blunt knife. IMPOSSIBLE.

Im from Cape Town and trust me its no Utopia.The crime is as bad as the rest of the country.
 
Wonder how long you will manage to stay on the Stellies campus grounds before security removes you, the same can be said of the Camps Bay beachfront. Luckily a tent is very mobile, but not safe, not even in those areas.

Well, whaddaya know?? It seems like in "Good" suburbs like Camp's Bay and Melkbosstrand, the whole suburb is murder free, not just small sections / streets as you pointed out!
