Apartheid houses stood for 30 years.
The new goverments houses do not last 3 years.

Now he is going to investigate why.

My answer:

My dear Mr Sexwale.
They call it skill. IT's the same thing that happend with the farms hospitals and schools, and since 1994 that has been either sent away or not employed. But hey who cares?? Viva ANC Viva!!

But no fear... Tokyo's ex property development company can help fix the problem :D

There probably isn't a link. Tokio said this on Good Morning South Africa, during an interview with Vuyo.

I really hope that he sticks to his guns on this one, as what he said, made perfect sense. Hopefully his 10 year sojourn into the business world has opened his eyes with respect to the crap that the ANC government dishes out and expects people to blindly accept.

It was on morning live yesterday morning. They are talking to all the new cabinet members this week. I'll see if i can find the link but you know it's the SABC and they will not report on someting that makes the ANC look bad..

I'll be putting money on Sox not having much more input on this thread

Is there something wrong with someone asking for substantiating of a statement?

Or are you happy a black person said SOMETHING was good about apartheid that it makes you have a warm and fuzzy feeling? ;)

Say what you want about Apartheid, it produced some fantastic engineers! Our (now ailing) water system was a work of genius. And as we've seen the buildings last, not the dirt.

This isn't an us vs them issue. Sox merely asked for a link presumably because he hadn't seen or heard of this yet. Not sure why asking for a link results in things getting personal.

Tokyo has my vote to get things sorted out - I have more confidence in him than 90% of the cabinet...

No doubt about that, but was everyone offered the education/opportunities to become fantastic engineer?

Surely all the houses were built by companies registered with the NHBRC (As per tender specification), and therefore will automatically built using established industry proven techniques and materials that are cost-effective and lasting.

And, the NHBRC protects the consumer.
And, the NHBRC inspects building sites.

The Council is mainly established to protect the interest of housing consumers, and to regulate the home building industry.
So, why does Tokyo not go to the oh so fantastic NHBRC and get a refund and rebuild?

Could it be that the NHBRC is worthless?
No.
Really?

Perhaps Tokyo should page through the Housing Consumer Protection Measures Act, 1998 (Act No. 95 1998), and get some Attorneys in to slap the builders around, as well as the NHBRC while they're at it.

EDIT:
The act ensures that :
All new homes are covered by a "deemed warranty" which means, that by law a builder must:
- Rectify any major structural defects that occur in the first five years after occupation.

There you Tokyo ... problem solved.

Why is it necessary ask for a link? I trust that people do post with good intent. Sure, maybe he wanted more information but in my experience those that ask for links all the time seem to think that the lack of a link somehow discredits the point put forward.

Well that I can agree with. Unfortunately he has 15 years of s**t buildup to sift through before he can get started.
