Tomatoes WTF ??

Typical of Woolworths food, they all look good but have not taste.
I buy fruit from the fruit and veg guy down the road. Always fresh and tasty.
 
I made a how to ages ago but basically just add some dolomite lime to the mix so it does not end up to acidic :)

Thanks mate, should i just add a couple handfuls? Or do i need to read directions?Im more of a do now, read later kind of guy lol

I often buy stuff from the local vendor on the street in sea point. (outside std bank)

I figure they hand pick the best they are able get hold of at the market in order to sell more, unlike the retailers who have truckloads of crap delivered.

I have seen him haul out huge wads of R100 notes.

I also bumped into him at a certain court (where most would rather not be seen)when going through to sort out bail for a friend :D
 
I bought a box of biggish same size cherry type tomatoes at either Spar or PNP and it said on the label "endorsed by the culinary institute of America " and Americas favourite tomatoe for taste. But Google shows nada. They did taste better than ww vine tomatoes but nothing to gush orgasmic about. maybe it's misleading advertising. I'll try find another box and get the variety
 
Learned recently that its better to buy the WW Israeli tomatoes than the ones labelled "salad / slicing tomatoes".
 
I really like the cheery tomatoes you get at most spars here. Large tomatoes, not so much
