at this point based on your post I am supposed to replace the above with the bottom block on your post on page 1 of this thread however the block write to API is greyed out not allowing me to fill anything in there.<response>

Hi @sajunky I need a little bit of assistance apologies upfront if the questions i ask are stupid as I am a noob when it comes to this.
I have a B315s-936 with firmware 21.313.03.00.372 which based on reading up here is the telkom version.
So i followed your post and downloaded the toolbox opened it using run as administrator, went to "API control" selected /api/net/net-mode-list clicked the "get" button the block below fills up with

Thanks for your assistance I loaded the new firmware no need to use the toolbox
I see multiple issues, but before I go for this, I suggest to download the latest Telkom firmware v21.321, you will be able to force 2300MHz band straight from the Web browser. Symbianize pulled this firmware from Huawei servers. Follow Symbianize links to the latest available firmware and update the file from Web browser (local update). http://www.symbianize.com/showthread.php?t=1428585&highlight=936
Note 1. Wrong place.
/api/net/net-mode-list is informational only, you cannot post. See posts on the first page. The correct place you can force router to use desired frequency is here:
/api/net/net-mode
Note 2. In your second message the first quote shows that you replaced the wrong place. Replace the <ltebands> section, not <LTEBand> section. You will find this section in the latest version of Toolbox v0.9.
Hope it helps.
A link to v0.9 is on the page 11. Verified, is valid. Thanks for a note, made an update the OP.Where will I find toolbox v0.9 the link on the first page does not work and the link on I think it was on the 3rd page was to v0.8a

Update will be rejected, as it has a different branded code.Hi guys. New to this thread, and need some help.
I have the B315s-936 bought from Takealot. I plan to use it with a Telkom uncapped LTE SIM card, so I need the ability to switch between 1800mhz and 2300mhz easily. I can do this with my Telkom branded B315 as it got the OTA update, but the version from Takealot doesn't have this feature, and the update section says it is already up to date.
Here is the status page of the Takealot router:

So tell me is it possible to just download the Telkom version firmware from here http://www.symbianize.com/showthread.php?t=1428585&highlight=936 [B315s-936_UPDATE_21.321.03.00.372.BIN] and then flash it using the "Local Update" function on the router?

Has anyone done this? And is it generally safe? Trying to avoid using the Toolbox coz I want to take the lazy route if it is known to work.

I do. If you are talking about B315s-936, answer is no.Hi,
Does anyone know if band 38 has been added to firmwares after 21.321.03.00.372 ? Thanks!
Yes, of course. All combinations of supported bands can be combined together.Hi Sajunky,
Is it possible to add CA of B7+B8 and B3+B8 to the xml file? And how should I go about to implement the changes ?
Thanks
p/s the router is e5186s-22a variant
0x0000000000000004 (band 3) plus
0x0000000000000080 (band 8) equals
0x0000000000000084 (or 0x84)
0x0000000000000040 (band 7) plus
0x0000000000000080 (band 8) equals
0x00000000000000C0 (or 0xC0)
Yes, of course. All combinations of supported bands can be combined together.
For B3+B8 it is as follows:
The same for B7+B8:Code:0x0000000000000004 (band 3) plus 0x0000000000000080 (band 8) equals 0x0000000000000084 (or 0x84)
You can also combine all of them B3+B7+B8, hex calculator will bring result 0xc4Code:0x0000000000000040 (band 7) plus 0x0000000000000080 (band 8) equals 0x00000000000000C0 (or 0xC0)
If you write such number to the API, router will be able to switch between corresponding frequency bands. Channel aggregation is an additional feature. Not all supported bands can be aggregated. In this example router is not able to aggregate channels B3+B8 nor B7+B8. It can switch between, but it will not use both in the same time. For this reason valexi didn't include these combinations, but you can add yourself.
Device name: B315s-936
Hardware version: WL1B310TM02
Software version: 21.321.03.00.372
What band do I need to lock to for better performance? I had previously done this before a firmware upgrade but I've forgotten what changes are required.
Currently my speedtests suck:

EDIT - I found with the new firmware that I no longer need Hauwei Toolbox to do this.
You can now go to "Settings > Dialup > Network Settings" and change your band there.
However it doesn't seem to have helped - in fact its made it worse...

Any advice?
Thanks!
