Tooth mouse/tooth fairy

Nope, actually scratch that. Any kid under the age of 16 shouldn't get sweets. You **** up their lives with that processed sugar and then you stuff them full of drugs because they have attention deficit disorder.... go ... go ahead and feed a 3 year old a bar of chocolate and see how long their attention span lasts....

Once a year the child is going to get cake and this is going to make them ADD? Damn you really know very little about children don't you. All I can say is please continue to use condoms. Use two just to make sure no mistakes happen.

Shame, all I can say is that I hope you two never have children.
In all probability I won't. So no matter.

No one lost anything anyway. The tooth is in their possession. It is about teaching them economics. If you have something that someone else wants they will pay you for it.

But nobody wants the tooth.... Talk is cheap because the supply outweighs the demand... I learned that... did your kids?

Your parents didn't hug you enough as a child, did they? :p

lol, no man, I've seen countless parents make the same mistake. It set the kids up for diabetes or weight problems later in life. As I've said before, I state my opinions on what I observe... and THEN I test them out on my sisters kids :D

Last week they told my sister that they'd rather listen to me than her. Just because they know that if they don't listen then there'll be trouble. And I haven't hit any of them...

Duh, if you knew the most basic thing about human biology you would know it is impossible for us two to have children :D

The tooth has left the root lodging...It is therefore referred to as 'lost'. A tooth is not much good to you in a jar or in our cupboard or under your pillow, duh! The child is therefore being compensated for a loss.

AND NO! Nobody wants that tooth. That is not economics, it is RIDICULOUS! :D

Aha, you see we eventually get to the crux of the matter. Your teeth are common and of very little value. My kids have great genetics so obviously their teeth are in great demand. Supply is limited to the mouth full of teeth they have so obviously demand is great!

Well of course the last thing on my mind was the two of you actually having kids together but clearly it is foremost in your mind! ;)

Wrong, wrong, wrong. No one tells their child that the tooth fairy brings them money to compensate them for the LOSS of their tooth. They are told that the tooth fairy uses the teeth to build a castle for herself. She therefore HAS A NEED for children's teeth. It is all about fun but I get why you don't understand this... :)

Which in the real world is the equivalent of being compensated for loss. You do actually know there is no castle etc? :D

It appears we are wrong with the tooth fairy lore, so sorry, oh wait: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tooth_fairy

 My poor thread. Got insulted and raped in my absence.

@ Acid: I already told my kids there is not Father Christmas. I mean, what is the point of me lying to them about that, as they see us buying presents anyway. But we keep it small and inexpensive. Because to me it is the thought that counts.

Also, I don't believe in that easter bunny crap, didn't grow up with it either. So skipped that lot too.

I was gonna tell them there is no tooth mouse, but as she has quite a few friends of her age going through the teeth thing, I couldn't spoil it for her. They already told her about the tooth mouse and that it brings money for teeth. That is something I did grow up with. And yes, I was disappointed when I grew up to find there wasn't one. But not a lot.

Kids need fantasies too. It is part of growing up.

Plus, this is the second time in one of my threads that you carry on about not giving kids sugar. YOU are wrong. I see nothing wrong with giving my kids sugar in any form. The difference is, I give it to the as a treat (ie NOT everyday) and then I keep it to the sweets that are considered better to give them (ie jelly sweets and sometimes a chocolate).

Keeping kids totally away from sugar is also wrong. They are bound to get pocket money and spend it all on sweets and eating it before getting home. I had friends like that, and both of them totally fell off the band wagon with sweets once they were old enough to stand up for themselves and decided they want to have sweets. They then totally overdid it and the youngest, especially, is now overweight. So you are actually doing them harm.

Sweets or chocolates in moderation is acceptable and teaches them moderation. A vast difference ;)

Now stop derailing my thread!

Another RBP?

Give it a go.... I think the Mods may see the humour though.... but please feel free. It is the way of this forum to run off tittle-tailing. Not sure I have seen it done by someone on behave of someone else though but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it happening...

Why so touchy? I was just asking... No need to get into a hissy fit about it! I can see that Sunday's are not too relaxing for you, are they?

Now, I need to know: how much should the tooth mouse be paying her?

Maybe she should investigate other options. The tooth mouse is sneaky. I know. I had a plan to mug the tooth mouse with my shoe and take all the money. I even had my mom as an early warning system. Whenever she came into the room I would ask her if she had seen the tooth mouse lurking about. I always fell asleep before the tooth mouse came. Then I would have to wait for the next tooth to fall out. I never managed to rob the tooth mouse. Sneaky!

jeez, if thats R20 a tooth i am going to grab a pliers right now and pull mine out, i could use the money to but me a chocolate.

That would be kind of like killing the goose that laid the golden eggs... unless you have managed to procure an uber-soft choccy that you are not sharing with the rest of us :p

Are those some veiled insults in that post?

"Hissy fit" - informal a childish temper tantrum. A sudden outburst of temper, often used to describe female anger at something trivial.

Are you calling me childish? A girl?

And the rhetorical question at the end? What are you implying?

:erm:

If you feel insulted, by all means resort to RBP. I'd hate to think of the amount of veiled insults you receive if you are construing what I say as an attack on your person by means of foul words.

You see my point now... it is just ridiculous that people actually resort to use of the RBP button. We're all adults (well I hope the people I am chatting to are adults otherwise it does explain a lot)

Ok, let's get back onto the subject of teeth.
