Top cellphone brands

Don't think this is very accurate because of a lot of older people who will stick to Nokia because its the only thing they know.. But good to see samsung and SE up there. Now samsung must just fix its freaking software and update system :(
 
Motorola third?
Who even uses Motorola? Or Siemens or Alcatel Phillips or Panasonic?

LG, Sony Ericsson,Siemens, Alcatel, Philips, Panasonic and Sagem?

No HTC or Blacberry?
 
A phone is only as popular as the amount of promotion the handset manufacturer and telco put behind it...

My conclusion is that this survey is fake.
No research at all.

Alcatel, Siemens, Panasonic, Sagem, Phillips - which SP sells them? None...
Anyone here know someone using either of those brands?
 
This is brand recognition survey and usage one. So the results sound about right to me.

The recent Business Times Top Brands survey shed some light on which cellular phone brands are the most recognised and respected.

Face it guys - After 143 years Nokia is still doing what it does better than the rest. That does not only go for mobile phones - in the northern parts of Europe they sell more (and better) rainwear than other brands dedicated to making only rainwear (like Elka, HellyHansen, Kway, North66 and the rest).

They were so good with mobile phones they forced their national rival to sell out to the Japs and that is understandable if you ever used a Nokia. They use open standards where others are more proprietary (think Sony Memory Stick and the super locked in iPhone). Plus their products are made stronger that other phones so they last longer.

They deserve to be tops because that is what they do. Just face it and stop being bad losers :D

Perhaps if you take Nokia out of the survey then bottom feeders like those will show a blip on the radar.

Yes you would say that since the iPhone was not mentioned and Nokia came out tops.
 
Im not disputing the rankings, Nokia are the most popular.
Its the others that shouldnt be there. Possibly because they havent made phones for the past 2 years.......
 
sagem is still offered by vodacom BTW

Edit: Oh and places like truworths group and that sell the other brands like alcatel and the like go and check.

If we could only get a REAL Japanese domestic mobiles in
SA. Those phones beat everything around here, especially
Sharp's models :).
 
Nokia was voted the top cellphone brand with a brand relationship score of 64.4%. Nokia was also the seventh most popular overall brand in South Africa.

I hate nokia - I have had the N70 for almost two years now (sigh....upgrade is on the horizon) and the phone is slow. Also had a look at some other phones out there, including Nokia. Unfortunately the Nokia user interface feels the same on all phones...and this suck!

Sony Erricson...I could consider one..
Blackberry - These phones continue to impress...

Samsung...hmm...nope!
Hello - Moto....no no
HTC...Windows Mobile....don't even need to think about it - NO!!

Upgrade coming up...So many phones to chose from :(
 
just changed from htc tytn ii to nokia e71. Htc is definitely more powerful, and multitasks much better.

On nokia, lighter, one hand operation, more stable.

There is far more software for htc than nokia, but I am trying to stop myself from fiddling too much I guess.
 
I love my Nokia 6234, its the best phone I have ever owned. A Ericsson I had back in 2001 was the second best. The rest where Nokias and the worst was a R1500 Samsung. I gave it away after 2 months. Hated the thing.
 
nokia will - for the next little while - be #1, simply bcoz they cover the whole cellphone market spectrum. they hav the R800 phone available on account at edgars, and they hav the e90 and n95 premium phones. the other brands eg htc, is used by a small top-end % of the market. so unless u hav a survey for techies, u may get different results. bottom line is that we hav a higher proportion of prepaid users, and the brands they use are the "top" brands as defined - like sagem :eek:

these surveys dont ask which phone u wish u had, they ask u about ur current phone, so u contribute in making nokia a top top brand:D:D
 
I had a look at all the other results of the surveys.
Now I understand the results, Phillips went up from last years results lol!:p
