Top Gun Maverick

In the three months since “Top Gun: Maverick” (Paramount) opened, its box office performance domestic ($658 million) and foreign ($674 million) deserved nearly all the hype. And when it reaches $660 million domestic, “Maverick” will — in unadjusted numbers — become the biggest-grossing Paramount release in its history, replacing the 1997 release of “Titanic.”

Not bad at all. Also not unexpected.

That being said, as long as the money rolls in, I think they will keep it exclusive to cinemas to at least October / November before announcing a streaming release.

Subjective. Box office success just means the average air-fryer owner had FOMO and had to go see it like they had to make sweet potato fries after seeing it on Tik-Tok

This was hardly Mulholland Drive.

If you didn't like the original, you won't like this.
I disagree. Maverick is in a completely different league to the original. I personally found the original weak and only a movie for it's time. Maverick on the other hand was one of the best movies I have ever had the privilege to see.

Lewis Hamilton says he could have been a ‘Top Gun’ with Tom Cruise

Lewis Hamilton was set to star as a fighter pilot in Top Gun: Maverick

But seven-time world champ had to turn it down to focus on climax of 2021 season

Really? Maverick felt like movie-making by checklist.
High speed flying, check.
Musical number, check.
Moustache, check.
Beach and babyoil, check.
Relationship drama, check.
Personal grudge, check.
