Top Gun Maverick

Suddenly there are a lot of "My home TV and sound setup beats any cinema" sinners converting to Cinemaology.
Sadly I didn't feel like driving 80km round trip to an IMAX cinema, and the cinema nearest me is s**t. The picture quality was poor. There was distracting dirt & scratches on the screen. If that is typical of most of their non-IMAX cinemas I understand why Ster-Kinekor is in business rescue.

Just got back from seeing it. It's the first movie in a LONG time that feels like a proper movie again.

It seems most retired fighter pilots like Mooch etc seem to be impressed with it as well, which says a lot.

Definitely worth seeing - it was better than I expected.

Here is a question (overthinking) that just came to mind:

Why couldn't they use Growlers to suppress the SAM radars and they comms? Were the SAMs IR guided? They didn't look IR guided.

I'm not a military enthusiast, but they could've probably used an ICBM (or five of them) and called it a day, no?

Could also have used a few F35’s to take out the SAM sites and SU57’s.
Or used cruise missiles for the SAM’s.

Not sure sure why they needed 50 cruise missiles to take out a runway when a cluster bomb can do the job.
But it’s a movie…

Guys, please jus remember this is a movie, not a documentary.

Top Gun Instructor said the reason they gave in the movie for not using an F35 was totally plausible. Also, this is a movie.
