I have got the exact same problem.
I wrote an email to their complaints department on Tuesday to let then know that Current TV cuts out every 15 minutes or so and they told me that the problem is with my system and that they checked the system on their side and there is absolutely nothing wrong. They then asked me to call the installer who did my installation to check the connection for me. However, I will not do this because I know for sure that it is not an installation problem. Besides, the installer will probably ask a call out fee especially if they find out that it is not their workmanship that is the problem.
Wednesday evening and last night, even this morning, I experienced what you are referring to as 'jitter problems'. Nice way of describing it because that is exactly what it is. One minute the channels are all on, the next minute you have to search to find a channel that is on.
Can't get any channels on TopTV from this morning in Durbs. Just says set top box unable to detect signal.
Well. If the problem developed suddenly with no reason to suspect any factor causing it, then it is probably the TopTV people doing their thing.
In my opinion, it could be that they are testing the capabilities of their system, perhaps loading the new channels and what not onto the system.
It is only once that I saw a message on the screen saying something to the effect of "we are working on the system and apologise for the lack of picture and sound". Otherwise, I just wait for the blank screen to blow over.
I do not think there is anything wrong with your decoder or dish. Wait it out a couple of minutes or a few hours. Call the call centre and clarify the matter with them if it persists. Don't rush to call the installer.
I had problems a few days ago. Without doing anything at all, everything is 100% in order again.
Yesterday, wifey, son and I sat down as a family for a change to eat dinner at 19h00 abandoning our regular viewing (the 7 o'clock news) to watch it. Five minutes into the episode, everything was looking oh so very familiar. Too familiar. I told my wife that we had watched this episode two weeks ago. She told me I'm nuts - I told her they are repeating already and she said lets see maybe thats how the episode goes, maybe its a flush back. Still not convinced or rather - still not believing our eyes we kept on watching hoping that it was really a flush back.
After 15 minutes we gave up and went back to our regular viewing (the news) only to catch that last few bits of it of any importance anyway.
I am totally livid. I have been a loyal customer and being treated like this is really insulting.
TopTV if you are not careful you are going to loose everyone from the first three months. I'm already on R99/mth. You are leaving me with no option but to cancel if this continues.
TopTV's silence on new channels is deafening.
Its 27 September.
Three days before October (the month when new channels are supposed to start).
With a promise of 14 new channels one would have expected them to at least dropped something to a journalist or to a mybb writer hinting us on what to expect.
I cannot take it.
Any news about the channels apart from what we already know?
Anyone?

They'd promised 14 new channels? I thought it was only 4 or 5, does anyone have a link to an article where they say how many channels they'll be adding?
... I don't want to get my hopes up without seeing it in writing somewhere![]()
