TopTV - Whats on?

So there's no Mythbusters on any of the TopTV channels? I was really hoping it'd be on the Discovery Science channel, even if it was old episodes. This makes me a very sad panda, I love that show :(

There is indeed some Mythbusters on Discovery Science. Tomorrow night at 6:10pm. The EPG does not provide information on the season or episode.

Here is some content information for some of TopTv's own channels

Top Movies - Perfect Stranger, The greatest adventure of my life, A heartbeat away, Vacancy, Already dead, Excess Baggage, Are we done yet, Dog days of summer

Top One - A heartbeat away, Brothers and sisters 1, Lalola 1, The fairy tailer, Family court with judge penny, Kyle XY 1, Platinum Wedding, The locator, Dirt 1,

Top Crime - Lance of longinus, Tropical heat, 18 wheels of justice, Cold squad, Tsunami, Relic hunter, Rex - a cop's best friend

Top Explorer - Untamed europe, Aoraki - first ski descent Mt, Pororoca - Surfing the ama'on, Globe trekker, Adoption stories, Medicine woman, Marine machines, Giant monsters, Classic rides, 4x4, Red bull fuel & fury 2006, Red bull reef seekers 2000, Cuba - wild islands of cari

Top History - Buries alive, China rises, Egypt, Embedded '45 - shooting war, Castro, Animal armageddon,

Other channels worth an extra mention

Discovery science looks proper - none of those reality crap flooding other discovery channels

Q (music channel) - The White stripes live. Don't see that on DSTV ever.

Looks proper for R249 a month. Definitely better value than DSTV compact.

Some more information on Top Movies

I have the schedule for Top Movies and it compares very well as a single movie channel regarding the films on offer. From comedy like Are We Done Yet? and action adventure like Spider-Man III, to sci-fi flicks like Ghostrider and romance like The Notebook, Top Movies has a selection from every movie genre. In May Top Movies debut - to name just a few, movies running the gamut from Murder on the Orient Express (2001), Reign over Me, Die Hard IV, The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer, Epic Movie, Wind Chill, Love and other Disasters, Plain Truth, Dragon Hunter, The List, First Comes Love and a lot more.

Great TV shows like Kyle XY (first season), One Tree Hill (first season), Dirt (first season), The Closer (first season), CSI Miami (first season), Brothers & Sisters (first season), Lost (first season and second season simultaneously), and the reality show The Bachelor (sixth season).

WOHOO!!

I'm not a sad panda anymore, & will look into getting TopTV as soon as the teething issues are worked out :)

Can the BA students/grads please start their own thread for critiquing movies, and not play Barry Ronge in this one? :wtf:

If you can't add anything useful, why bother contributing? Exactly how does your dim witted comment contribute to this discussion? This is a discussion about the content and no movies have been reviewed or critiqued.

So I suggest you start your own thread :wtf:

For the R250 i would just get uncapped internet.

As those series season are years behind, and can find links to download those episodes all over the internet.

my 1c

:D

You arent the sharpest needle in the haystack are you? Do you know there are other costs ot uncapped internet and to download at a decent rate you would need to have a 4MB line. This will total you around R1000 so dont come with your R250 comments. What did you expect for that price? Top notch series?

Given they play an episode a day, it will be interesting to see what happens when the channels like fox entertainment eventually catch up to the current series.

TopTV - Whats on? - as the title suggests - i haven't seen much feedback so i take it majority of subscribers still waiting to get activated/dish installed ??
Those that are already connected , please contribute to this thread :)

I love it. It's like paying R249 for "Retro-TV" which for me is a bargain.

If they got House MD then only,id think of switching. Iv gotten to involved with my list of favorite series to switch.....

Thou if Top-tv signs on big names like M-TV and Cartoon Network etc, Id think they would be hitting DSTV in-between the legs!!!Thou i wouldn't buy it unless iv played around with the system itself

Are they going to add: Knight Rider, A-Team, Airwolf, MacGyver, Who's the boss? Can't think of more at the moment, i'm getting older...

Not that long, seeing that all shows go on +- 6 months breaks, it will give them ample time to catch up.
But honestly, dont know their plans so who knows.

Most of the complaints about TopTV sum up my experience of MC this year, old/lousy movies, outdated series, Monday to Sunday with nothing to watch. The only thing TopTV haven't had a chance at is reruns. At least it's cheaper.

When they reach the currently airing season of each series, they'll likely either have reruns or change the shows.
They don't have the rights to air latest episodes just yet.

I really don't mind. I think the content for the amount of money it costs is worth every cent.

I'm happy with being at the inception pretty much - I look forward to seeing how it goes.
