has anyone tried torchlight yet? its not a new release, but from the reviews they say its the best diablo clone to date. if so, I was wondering what your impressions of it are?

its retailing for $19- buy it online, which translates to about 160 bucks- thats flipping cheap, I wouldn't mind giving it a go.

Yeah its very good, have got it and finished it with all three characters.

Its not quite as deep as Diablo II, in that I dont feel there is as much choice in customizing your build. Nonetheless, it is addictive and engaging. I got bored once I'd finished it with all 3 though.
 
Finnished it once in the hardest setting with the "Warrior". Played a bit with the ranger but got bored of it Quickly. Was fun for 2 or 3 days though.
 
I thoroughly enjoyed it, thought it was just enough fun! Will keep you busy for a few days.
 
Fun, but gets stale pretty quickly. Still, if you're into diablo type games then its worth a shot
 
If you like this then have a look at the FATE series. i think they are on the 3rd one now.
Very very VERY similar. (you even get a cat or dog as a pet and it can transform)

It's the same developers (far as I know), some of them. Torchlight is far, far better than fate.
 
It is awesome, I really really enjoyed it! I started playing and it kinds sucked 3 days out of my life as I finished various characters. Well worth it. STEAM often run specials, I think I bought it on one of the specials for £3
 
If you like diablo it's be fun to play torchlight. even if it';s just for nostalgia. But if you want to get immersed in the whole diablo experience like ALOt of weapons, weapons sets, runes, multiple chatpters going to different countries assigni skills, etc, etc, etc. I would suggest TITANS QUEST and Immortal Throne add-on. Definitly the best Diable clone. It will cure you jones until diablo 3 comes.

Not to mention the music in torchlight.. almost exactly like diablo`s

I found titan quest to be a bit of a grind.... even as a diablo fan. The maps are too big, and it never feels like your getting anywhere.

I've enjoyed the game but it was way to short. Last few levels was abit boring for me. Same thing over and over again.
 
Yeah I also played this , was awesome but a bit repetitive towards the end.
 
Torchlight is good fun, although a bit short, got 83 on metacritic. I'd rather play this than Diablo 2 or Titan Quest.
 
Titan Quest starts of too slowly. The game only picks up pace when you've got a decent set of skills at level 20+. A fun game though if you can get past the early level grinding. Will try torchlight soon.
