Total Grid collaps

Solar is great and it should carry you a while. I hope your panels are out of sight. If not you will become a prime target very quickly.

A blackout would be catastrophic. There would be mass looting and destruction. I highly doubt comms would be the biggest concern at that point.

You'll be standing on the roof shooting zombies that tries to steal your panels.

Don't you have friends and family? News will spread like wildfire via whatapps when everyone doesn't have power. You'd know within 15mins.
 
I heard the mofo on 702 saying it would take 3-4 weeks to come online after a blackout.

Doubt whether comms would be available at all, unless via two-way/ham radio.

Best advice on comms status updates would be to be tuned to your local radio station, on a battery-powered radio (or in your car) - they should have back-up power for a few hours.

Yeah, these guys would be at home trying to protect their own family/property. As would any emergency personnel, hospital staff, supply chain staff, etc, etc.

Practical advice thanks.

Vhf radios will be more valuable than lotto results. I have loads.

You can only do what you can do.

Just want to be one of the first to know. #?
