TrackMania Nations Forever

Help please with Party Play LAN game

Hi guys,

Hope you can help me with something on trackmania nations.

I can not seem to create a party play server nor join one.

I do change any settings and click Create and Launch but then I sit on a screen where one one table called "Servers" it lists nothing and then one called "Players" it lists only me and no-one else.

I have Vista and my house mate has XP.

Does anyone know why it doesn't work?
Has anyone actually successfully created a party play LAN game?

I often do with the kids (3 PCs in total, Netgear 834GT router). I host (XP Pro) and they join (XP Home).

After "Launch" you should get "Playlists" (predefined) with "Official", "My Tracks", "Downloaded Tracks" on the left.

I played with it a bit last nite and then there was an option to Play and when I clicked on it it started the game.

Am I on the right track?

My house mate wasn't in so we couldn't test properly but if I start the game, will he then see my game-server on his server list?

Also, any chance you use wireless? We do and I have a hunch that could contribute to the problem...
 
Hi again, I was wondering if anyone can do me a favour. I've been playing solo's alot lately
and I've got 220 medals but I'd like to increase that as two of my tracks are locked which could take me to 227 so the favour is about if I can invite anyone by mail to my buddy list, and play someone on hotseat (How do you?)

Not sure what you think Hot Seat mode can do for you ? Hot seat allows for more than one player on a single computer (as in you get your butt out of the chair and someone else plays) , nothing more

Oh so thats pretty simple, and I needed it because thats one of the solo tracks thats locked when you go online, so to unlock it you need to have played hot seat.

Ah, bit of searching pointed to Nations-Blue-C14. Can't even remember doing hotseat on that one. You can always try to create a dummy profile on your PC and play as the "other" player when in hotseat mode

All you need to do is start the process, ie you need to start the hotseat race. start the race, skip to next player.

Then invite a friend, but don't actually play and walla it is all done.
 
Yeah, the hotseat was pretty easy, I just didn't know what it was actually :$
And I've already sent some e-mails to friends but either they didn't want to waste time/cap on downloading, or their computers just couldn't handle it, so I just wanted to ask if I could invite anyone here..

As long as you invited them, it should have unlocked that track.

Or send it to me (xenophon69) and I'll accept.

It says you need to invite a person by mail, so I presume I need to send it to an email address >_>

And also, I'm also curious to know if anyone has completed the final black track. It's an hour long for the author medal which means a lot longer for the normal medals.:eek:
 
trackmania is bugging me.

on my one computer works fine
on my other computer (connected to same router) it wont connect to the master server and says "bad proxy configuration" when i try update it.

It even says "bad proxy configuration" when I unplug the pc from the router.
On my other pc when i unplug from the router and try update it will say something like "not connected to internet".

All other internet apps and games work fine on 1st pc.

any one know wahts going on?
 
dont think i have one unless you count the windows firewall?

oh ive tried reinstalling twice
 
Does anyone create there own tracks. Once I got into it, it's become quite fun, though I still have some problems with what can be done. I can't seem to find some of the track pieces I've seen in other tracks...
