lol Thanks for the offer, I am Penguin, but I already bought a 500GB Seagate a few days ago and updated the firmware and all that and it's working perfectly.

I'd much rather stick to companies I trust after this ordeal.

And no, no drive But as I said - I'm over it and it no longer concerns me. I at least got something back out of this, so I'm content and more than willing to move on and forget it.

It is a loss for him, it always was. I presume he calculated this before making me the offer.

He has R600 now (due to my going the extra mile to sort it out with the supplier) instead of having to wait for the manufacturer's response.
